So an average unit isnt capable of having a very good game?
Sure
Is Kirk Cousins capable of having a good game on Monday night? Maybe but I have seen no evidence of it.
0-9 on Monday Night

Actually I was hoping he'd come aboard w/KS.
We dodged a bullet.

0-9 on Monday Night
You have breakdowns of how he played in those games? Or just his record?
QB record is still one of the dumbest metrics to evaluate INDIVIDUAL play.

Winning is the point of the game. His record on Monday night and against teams for winning records say something about his ability.
I wouldn't call him terrible, more like a little above average.
Jimmy's record as a starter certainly says something about his ability as a QB.

Yes, it is the team's point of the game, agreed.

It should be the point of the game foe the QB as well.

All wins are not created equal. All losses are not created equal. I get that winning the game is the QB's goal, but just because a QB wins a game doesnt mean he played well. And of course, the opposite is also true.

Are you saying he has performed well in "big games" - including Monday Night games? I haven't heard that... he gets knocked for under-performing in big games throughout his career.
He also led the Vikings to no playoffs last year and they were the most disappointing team in the NFL.
I get your point, there have been great QBs on bad teams (e.g. Andrew Luck) and their w/l record doesn't do them justice. Although, the consensus from sports people (players, coaches, media, fans) is that in major team sports a quarterback has the biggest respective impact on long-term w/l. For a year or two an average QB can be carried by a strong defense, but that won't hold up long term. A QB's leadership traits are hard to quantify, but ex coaches and players always speak to how important it is... I guess my point is that you may undervalue w/l over a large sample size when evaluating QBs. It's hard to win in the NFL year over year, and it's not a coincidence that the good QBs do and the bad ones don't.

I'm not a big Kirk Cousins fan, but when has this guy ever played a Monday night game, or any game, with a really good group of weapons around him, or even a decent OC? Only when Kyle was in Washington did he have a good OC, and he did well there, but even then, he really did not have anything close to what Mahomes has in KC, or Goff in LA, or Jimmy here in SF.
Right now he is saddled with a loser coach who fired an OC because he didn't run the ball enough. That should tell you as much as you need to know about him ever getting quality weapons around him in Minne and being turned loose to use them.

Not once have I made this claim, because I havent watched every one of his "big games" nor have I sat down and researched them. I am simply replying to the idea that a record assigned to a QB without context is a good way to judge a QB. It isnt.
Aaron Rodgers barely has a winning record against .500+ teams. Does that mean he isnt good or he doesnt show up to big games? Of course not.

Kirk Cousins is something like 5-30 against winning teams. That is a long way from a winning record.
The difference in their records records against winning teams reflects the difference in their abilities as QBs.

I really don't care what their rankings are, that pass rush and front seven looked like a top 3 defense against Minnesota with the way they were playing. That Minnesota OL had no chance in holding up.

I don't think cousins was very good under Kyle. He was 113 for 203 with eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions with Kyle as his OC.
