If you are a fan of Bosa then you should ve glad we went with Jimmy over Kirk

But we would probably still have Buckner.

Do you prefer that option?
Why did Darius Slayton have to do Kirk like that??

If he caught that pass and ran the open 15 yards infront of him then the Noon Nightmare wouldn't have been exposed like this..

LOL who cares about buckner. we'd be 1000% worse.

I love Buckner, but agree totally. Yes Buck is by far and away a better pass rusher, but our run D would be average. Lack of run D is partially what got us beat in that Super Bowl.

Dude didn't give up 450 yards to a Giants team that scored 30 points for just the second time all season. Minnesota got away with a s**t tier defense all season long due to crazy heroics from Cousins and Jefferson and their luck finally ran out.

If it weren't for him they would have lost by a lot more than 7.

All of that is true.....I don't think it changes much around Cousins though. He had a chance to somewhat alter the narrative with a 3 minute drive - even got a gift with that nonsensical roughing the passer call. What was it? 4th and 7 and THAT'S how your season ends?

I don't think Cousins is that guy, but his defense is damn near at the bottom. 31 and 28 in yards and points. Made Daniel Jones look like a top 5 QB. He also hit a receiver perfectly on 3rd down.
In some ways, Cousins put together his best game of the season Sunday. He completed 31 of 39 passes for 273 yards and two touchdowns, while running for a third, and compiled his best Total QBR of the season (85.2).

Blame Cousins is typical blame the QB when it goes wrong stuff we see in our QB threads. Played a great game. Above is from ESPN. D let the team down.

I admitted as such....his defense is trash, and was the primary reason why the Vikings lost. It's that he had a scenario handed to him to re-write some of the narrative about him....a bunch of nice stats and a .500 record. It is what it is...perception is reality as Steve Young would say. His final (4th and 7) throw will stick, and it should. The problem is bigger than just Kirk Cousins however.....it's the way the league is set up now with the passing numbers through the roof and the salary cap. If you don't have a Mahomes/Allen type of guy, you're simply further behind in todays era as opposed to when guys like Montana and Marino were in their prime.

And I'll say he threw a perfect pass on 3rd down. I agree with you. It's almost like the QB contract shouldn't even count against the cap- an NFL version of the old Larry Bird rule for contracts. It seems like there is no inbetween with the contracts either. You have rookie deals, backup QB deals, and record setting contracts. The Geno and Jimmy deals are going to be very interesting in my opinion, because neither are elite, but both are very good and with the right players around them, can win (Jimmy obviously a lot more so than Geno because of track record). If this were "fair", both of those guys would be getting paid between 25 to 30 million a year. I just haven't seen a recent QB contract averaging under 35 million apy. We will see how this all plays out. If the second tier of guys (Kyler Murray and Dak Prescott for example) work out, this trend will continue.

Cousins made a big mistake on the 4rth and 8 at the end but overall he had a really strong game.
He was blasted by Dexter Lawrence almost every time in the pocket.
The Vikings lost because of their defense, that´s it.
They let the Giants score 31 points on them.
Also maybe the next time O´Donnell won´t be so cute with the trick play in the first half.
As much as I would have liked Cousins back in 2017 I'm happy where we're at outside of the trey lance debacle. I do find it hilarious that the redskins kept franchise tagging him pretty much saying they don't believe he's good enough then turn down the #2 pick and then letting him walk in free agency

And that's why they didn't come close to winning a championship with Snyder as owner.
