Snyder made it clear he wasn't going to let Cuz go to us. He made it clear he was going to franchise Cuz for the third time... thats the reason why we went with the jimmy trade.

Jimmy fooled us and Snyder ended up not franchising Kirk for the 3rd time

There was zero chance that they were going to franchise Cousins a third time. It would have cost them over $50 million for a single season back when the top QB's in football were earning $35 million.

Man you guys are desperate if you want Cousins. Delusions of grandeur too if you think he is ever going to win a Super Bowl. Purdy will win it all before he does.

The comparison was between Cousins and Jimmy G not Purdy. Cousins absolutely wins a title here in 2019.

Considering Purdy plays for a much better team and has a better coach, that's a safe bet.

We could have just drafted Pat back In 2017.

The only knock on Kirk has been his lack of a championship. He has better numbers than Montana overall. Naturally comp% and passer rating are higher because everyone is higher in this era. He has a lower INT %. A higher TD %. I'm not saying he's anywhere near Joe and the different eras make a true comparison hard but Cousins has had a good career. He only missed one game until last year when he injured his achilles and missed 8. Now he's started all 5 this year. That's one reason his name often came up when teams were looking to improve at that position. I heard an interview with him this morning and he sounded like a really bright guy. I'm pretty sure the Niners could have won a SB with him.

If this is what you gathered from the prior posts, you need to work on your reading comprehension. No one is claiming Cousins is going to win a Superbowl moving forward.

Shoulda coulda woulda..just another one we passed on. At least Jimmy has now found his true self lol

This is true. That's why all these "we should have drafted this guy" statements are irrelevant. Every mover a team makes whether it's a dradft lick, FA signing or contract move has a ripple effect. They probably wouldn't have drafted Purdy if JG had stayed healthy. They wouldn't have moved up to draft Lance and thise draft picks would have resulted in other players that might be helping the team now.

No, but he's just one example of the team that did that wouldn't be the same if Cousins was signed. You can't just plug in Cousins and think all the bad breaks go our way while all the good breaks remain the same. Maybe we go 9-7 in 2018, but Cousins break his collarbone in Week 7 2019. It's just as probable.
