Wonder if Cards fans are upset about beating the Eagles as it both hurts their draft pick status and helps the 49ers.
I really had no beef with the Cards in all their NFC West postseason runs (2008, 2009, 2015).
Hopefully the feeling is mutual. Only care about them losing when it's head to head or divisional rankings, but I don't have this hatred for their success like Seahawks or Rams.
Hatred is not the same as the Seahawks or the Rams, but Ive always found the Cardinals somewhat annoying, not really the fans since they don't exist.
id say the peak of my dislike was in 2009, they won the division but imo we had the better all-around roster, swept them including a beat down at Candlestick on MNF. Unfortunately the Niners lost a lot of close games that year, if they would've had just an average head coach they would've won the division over AZ.
This is saying a lot, because Kurt Warner at QB really trumps anything we've had. They had WRs too...
Not really. AZ was a one dimensional team (although a very good one) and their defense was pretty bad. 49ers had one of the leagues best defenses. As far as the Offense, the Oline sucked, but Vernon Davis finally reached stud status, I may be wrong but believe he led the league in TDs that year, Frank Gore continued to play at a high level, and Michael Crabtree was seen as a young up & coming player, Alex Smith when he got the starting job was decent at times. And outside of a 45-10 ass kicking by the Falcons at Candlestick. All the games that they lost were by a TD or less, not saying they would've gone very far in the playoffs, but if they just had a Norv Turner type coach, they make it which leads me to my point, despite Mike Singletary brining toughness to the team, he was a worthless head coach, and the 2009 & 2010 49ers biggest downfall. In just 2 years Jim Harbaugh would take those same players(with some added pieces of course) and lead them to a 13-3 season all the way to the NFC Championship.
ahh…such simpler times
