Meh. It could go either way. I remember the excitement generated over the hiring of Mike Nolan as HC of the 49ers. A return to the Nolan days of coaching. A promised youth movement, starting with a young quarterback selected with the first pick in the NFL draft. Oh, by the way, Nolan's last stop before getting the 49ers gig? He had just came off of a stellar four-year run as DC of the Baltimore Ravens. Chew on that one for awhile.
Not only did Nolan fail, the 49ers had a revolving door at OC. This helped to stunt the development of Alex Smith by several years. Nolan's return quickly transformed into NoWin and the empty suit. The fortunes of the 49ers would not change until Harbaugh was brought in to put an end to six years of some of the worst 49er teams I've ever experienced.
This may be the fate awaiting the Seahawks. Paul Allen's sister was committed to selling the team, but that outlook has changed and she is now in firm control. This could spell some very bad news indeed.
