I personally thought KS' decision to start OT on offense made sense, both defenses seemed gassed at the time and he probably figured your team would have the best opportunity for a touch down. I will say I was generally shocked at how little Kittle saw the ball and CMAC didn't seem to get the ball in his hands through a very close game until really the second half. Mahomes is potentially the next GOAT, I think if he wins 5, or 3-peats, he makes the next big statement.

Adams being released, we should sign him to play linebacker

Very quiet in here. With the team being completely ripped apart and starting back over, I guess there's really no one left to focus on.

The offense is still pretty much the same, the defense may take a step back

No second rounder for the Seaclucks. Too bad. That means, unless they do a trade(s), they are looking at probably with #16 overall:
- Byron Murphy
- Dallas Turner
- Tyler Nubin
- Troy Fautanu (played for the OC in college)
- If McCarthy or Penix (played for the OC) is still there do they pull the plug for Smith's successor?

Really hard to know with a new coach. I'd imagine he wants a defensive player since that's where their holes are.

I have a suspicion Geno who turns 34 later this year, may get overtaken by Howell in season
that or SEA drafts a QB
that or SEA drafts a QB

Drafting for the SeaClucks since noone else here is. Yeah - they'll have some options with an impact DL/Edge player at #16. You're welcome, Seacluck fans.
#16, Jared Verse, Edge, FSU
#81, Jeremiah Trotter Jr, LB, Clemson
#102, Christian Mahogany, G, BC
#118, Sione Vaki, S, Utah
#179, Javon Foster, OT, Missouri
#192, Bub Means, WR, Pittsburgh
#235, Josh Wallace, CB, Michigan

I am very excited for the DT draft pick. I feel that position (if drafted correctly) is probably the most important position on defense.

I had not followed what was taking place up north. My goodness. The team has chosen to part ways with a number of players, haven't they?
I'm still not sure that telling Petey to take a hike and handing full control to Schneider was the right idea, but time will tell!

Time will tell indeed. Some believe the PC and JS era was a two headed snake, some believe it was just PC. I think the issue for me is, it's hard to truly know unless you were in the organization in the back room during drafts and trades who had the real control PC or JS or if they were really in tandem with the poor decision making that occurred over the last 7 or so years or really ever since the Graham-Unger trade.
The being said, I am very happy they drafted a highly prospected DT. With all draft picks it's a prospect there are no guarantees how that person's career is going to play out. That being said the position is the one I firmly believe in as the true core of a defense. Obviously Aaron Donald is the gold standard, it's what you hope and dream for. But mainly if you find that person in the middle of the DL that brings pressure up the middle to the QB and is efficient against the run. EVERYTHING else in the defense is elevated.
Where as I feel like PC's mindset was building for the secondary forward, which had its weaknesses exposed against teams that could efficiently give you death by a thousand cuts.
I think this is a 2-3 year rebuild. Re-building the defensive core. Buying time with Geno until a QB comes up and the O-line getting built, or perhaps Geno and co. is actually good enough once MM has the defense he wants.
I am also curious if MM manages DK and his emotions better (keeping in mind DK is getting older himself, so perhaps that maturity will just come with age too).

I believe 2-3 year rebuild projects are a pipe dream. Teams can go from long-time losers to instant winners overnight. It only takes one season, and the right coach. Look no further than what Jim Harbaugh did with the 49ers. Seven years of losing seasons before he arrived. And then, in 2011, BOOM. Instant winner. Some would make the case that the talent was already there, but that's hogwash. It's true with every NFL team. It just takes the right coach to push the right buttons.
It's true that Pete Carroll turned in two straight 7-9 seasons. But you could also see that team improving. Week after week. You could see it. Then, in Year 3, BOOM. Nine straight outstanding seasons. One SB Championship. Should have been two. Given the age difference between Carroll and Schneider, it was fairly clear who was in control. Carroll was hired first. A week later Schneider was hired. Carroll had full control over that team. He called the shots. Things may have changed after Paul Allen died and his sister took over. I'm not sure. I wasn't there to see it.
Schneider has a lot to prove. This is his team now. I'm not so confident that he can do it. But, time will tell. If he forced Carroll out, it could be the biggest mistake he's ever made.

The Seahawks without Carroll (and the Patriots without Belichick), gonna be so strange to watch these two teams get out there this year.
It's so hard to place what the next Seahawk/49er game will feel like, but regardless of how it goes down, it will certainly FEEL different.
I imagine that defense gets better somehow.

Ironically the last time the patriots took the field coached by somebody other than Belichick, it was Pete Carroll
