Dunbar makes what, 3.4 mil? Assuming there is no cap hit if Dunbar's released, this is not going to "free up" enough cap space to sign Ngakoue. Doesn't that dude was like 20 mil a year? I guess you won't be signing your rookies then. This isn't Madden.

On top of the $16 mil we already have that'll be plenty.

How? Pay Ngakoue all of the remaining money? If the team pays him, which it will have to do, then there will no money left to pay your rookies. This is obviously not going to happen.

I also thought Dunbar was going to bring the secondary back to its former glory? Now that this pipe dream is over, I guess it's off to the next unrealistic fantasy. It's more likely that Seattle will sign Clowney at a discount then give up major draft compensation and huge money on Ngakoue, while leaving no room to sign your rookies.

By releasing Dunbar, the Seahawks would create $3.4 million in cap space and if there's a silver lining, they wouldn't absorb a dead cap hit. But they won't be able to get back the fifth-round pick traded to acquire him, as the Redskins already used that selection a couple of weeks ago. That's roughly $20 mil to either sign Clowney to another one year deal or make a play for Ngakoue which seems more likely to happen. And our secondary is fine with Tre Flowers a 2 year starter and one of the better young tall corners in the game he was #6 pff his rookie year. He would've challenged Dunbar for the starting job their games are similar as well as size

Good he has natural technique he has a tendency to bite at times and overplay but he's a hard hitting corner. Glad we got him he's a good number 2 corner

I meant where did PFF rank him. Since you brought up his rookie year as if that's relevant.
Do you all want Dontae Johnson back now?
This is just a bizarre story.

If everything reported is true and accurate, it seems like they knew what they were doing.

Member Milestone: This is post number 600 for gored49.
Does anyone have a list of crimes that have disappeared or charges delayed for Seahawks players? If I remember correctly:
-Lynch with a DUI that kept getting pushed back.
-Kendricks with a federal case that kept getting delayed and he was allowed to play. Only dropped when he tore his ACL.
-Dunbar with witnesses popping up to support a lawyers side instead of going to the police first.

I'm sure there are more. No way that maniac Browner was an anger during his tenure there.
Like I said, one way or another, Dunbar going to play, if there is a season.

Seahawks are going to pick up Baker after the Giants release him. And then their legal team will magically find "witnesses" that say he didn't do anything as well and everything was just one big misunderstanding.
