Rules that should be changed

I HATE the fact that it's 3rd and long and a defensive player gets called for holding (prior to the pass) which is only a 5 yard penalty BUT it is an automatic first down. That's a b******t call and a cop out. It should be a 5 yard penalty only, and if it happens again on the same drive, then give them automatic first downs.

I also hate that defensive holding calls (prior to the pass) is only 5 but offensive holding is 10. They both should be 5 yards. 10 yards is way too harsh of a penalty.

Holding and Block in the back on punt returns. Gotta tweek that somehow. Seems like every big return comes back on a flag.

that owners can be replaced for poor decision making.

I disagree.

The distinction between pass interference and defensive holding is whether the ball is in the air or not.

Suppose it's 3rd and 30. At the start of the play, Julio Jones blows past Richard Sherman and is going to be wide open for a touchdown. Well, if defensive holding was only 5 yards, Sherman could just maul Jones as he's flying by, disrupt his route, and prevent him from blowing past him. If Matt Ryan hadn't thrown the ball yet, this wouldn't be pass interference.

If you think about it, defensive holding would be utterly abused if it wasn't an automatic first down.

The leverage rule or whatever it's called on fg and pat attempts.

Seriously. One rule change I've always argued for is half the distance to the goal. If the offense is one the one and commit a hold. They lose half a yard. Big deal. If the defense does the same, it's 5 yards of breathing room. That is a big deal. If it's half the distance to the goal, should also be half the distance from.

Possession on a catch is possession and a football move. If a player catches the but"doesn't maintain possession throughout" it should still be a catch.
Rethink intentional grounding. Just throwing in the general direction needs to be modified somehow. A pass 20 yards away should be intentional grounding.
And I agree with frozen. If the defense commits a penalty at the 1, it's a half yard penalty. If the offense commits a penalty it's a full loss of yardage. Seems imbalanced, but I don't have an answer on how to fix it.

Change. How about just calling what they should...like holding...or spearing...or...

I used to think so but changed my mind. There should be two pi calls. Intentional and accidental. When you have Sherman batting down arms to end a game, that's intentional. Spot foul and like unsportsmanlike conduct, 2 and you are gone.

Accidental should be 15 yards. Granted I don't really trust the refs to make this decision, so it goes to booth review.

Also offensive pi should include loss of down +10 yards to keep the playing field fair.

Modify the concussion rule so that if a player is put in the concussion protocol as a result of a helmet to helmet hit from a defender, the defender(s) must also leave the game for as long as the injured player is concussed.
Stop the clock after first downs after 2min warning.

make an emergency amendment to the cba to allow for more practice time and more contact practices or even fundamental tackling only practices.

Cheerleaders should be nude.
