Seriously. One rule change I've always argued for is half the distance to the goal. If the offense is one the one and commit a hold. They lose half a yard. Big deal. If the defense does the same, it's 5 yards of breathing room. That is a big deal. If it's half the distance to the goal, should also be half the distance from.
slaughter rule would never happen. You know how much money the NFL would lose in commercial advertisements. Either way, its a good time for the young guys and 2nd stringers to get some playing time

Defenseless receiver, you can't be hit going over the middle. It's not only a rule change it's changing the game, it's becoming a different game. Ronnie Lott could not play in today's game because his fines would overshadow his salary.

Overtime periods have been reduced to 10 minutes, per Ian Rap.
I think it's just for the regular season?

My biggest problem with this rule is, I feel an overwhelming majority of the time, a defenseless receiver is only defenseless because he is trying to catch a s****y pass. So IMO, the wrong player is being punished.

What they should do:
Ease up on the pass interference calls on the defense.
Targeting penalties and other penalties should be abled to be challenged
Officials should be more relaxed when blowing the whistle to indicate the play is dead. Too many times they blow the whistle too fast
Do away with only dressing 46 players. All 53 roster spots should be abled to be used. If you don't have enough, teams can get their practice squad players if they want.

Pass rushers should be able to make contact on the QB's helmet with their hands but only their hands. Way too many roughness calls when a player is trying to bat the ball and his hand comes down on the QB helmet. Seriously, even if a player does it on purpose, have there been any concussions occur due to a hand slap on the helmet? An obviously blatant/violent one obviously should be called though.

Spot the ball where the carrier falls. f**k Forward Progress: get rid of it and the attempt of guessing where the ball was.
If a ball carrier gets tackled backward, that's the offense's problem and a legit reward to the defense.

cost us a critical TD vs the NYG in the '11 NFCCG when Bow stripped the ball from their RB while he was still upright

This would add 224 players to the league. That won't happen.

True and it is too subjective. If the whistle blows because a ref thinks a carrier can get injured due to tacklers around his knees, then spot the ball the best you can when the whistle blew...not at the point of progress ends.
