I wouldn't call him a bust. He was just not a 1st overall pick caliber QB.

Goff isn't a bust yet...but this just makes the coach and GM look stupid for giving up what they did for a guy who isn't ready.

That is harsh, but with Alex and Goff they were so good in college. Especially Alex Smith this dude was so money that I can't blame Nolan picking him over Rodgers.

They are crappier than they look cause Keenum and Goff are the QBs. Not to say Goff won't get better, but he looks like crap. Kaep and Gabbert look better than those two. I know you have Goff loyalty, but if that is a preview of his arm strength it's going to be a rough NFL career.

I have zero Goff loyalty. That's insane. He's a Ram; I'm rooting against him. I hope I'm wrong.

That doesn't change the fact that Goff is an extremely smart QB who can read a defense, in addition to being very accurate. That's something the Niners haven't had since Young. But the dude is not ready for the NFL yet, which is why it's f***ing ridiculous to judge him based on how he looks NOW.

People aren't calling Bryce Petty a bust, are they? The dude sucks because he's still nowhere near ready to compete at the highest level. And this is coming from a guy who likes (and liked) Bryce Petty a lot more than most late-round prospects. Petty's ready to play & work through his growing pains, but he's nowhere near a finished product. Goff isn't even ready to take the field yet IMO.

People don't call Petty a bust because he was never expected to be a franchise QB. We hold Goff and other top QBs to higher standards because they ARE expected to be franchise QBs. They should not be viewed similarly.

I wouldn't grade the top LT drafted with the same expectations as the 30th LT taken. Top picks need to produce. Mid round picks are not franchise killers.
2 TDs so far today!
Looking really solid today. 3 TDs in the first half

Over 16 fantasy points in one half LOL
Jared Goff has three first-half TD passes against the Saints today. He joins Marcus Mariota, Jameis Winston, Trent Edwards, Matthew Stafford, Sam Bradford, Russell Wilson and Robert Griffin III as rookie QBs with at least three first-half TD passes in one game since 2001. Winston and Mariota each had four in a first half last season.
Looked better than any 49er qb in recent memory

But hey

He's a bust
Still sucks. Didn't do s**t after the first half

Not sure about that. Not today. He played pretty well all things considered. Couple turnovers but played well. Lets see how he does going forward as teams see more tape on him.

I also still think giving up what they did was a mistake for a guy they did not feel would be ready day 1.

He hasnt won a superbowl...bust....
The question should be rephrased to say "was he worth trading all those picks to move up to #1?" So far, hell no.

He will never be worth it.
