True. He should've been drafted #2 behind Connor Cook, who was the best QB in the draft.
Goff will be a great QB in a few years. It's amazing how short-sided people can be. A rookie on the friggn' Rams who came out of college early is supposed to immediately play well? That's not how it works.

The question should be rephrased to say "was he worth trading all those picks to move up to #1?" So far, hell no.
No quarterback in their rookie year, save for Dan Marino has looked like that in year 1. This isn't even a fair question.
Meaning...No Rookie was ever good???

Had the Rams had the #1 overall pick and just selected him, it would be different. The fact that they traded a bunch of future top picks for him and the expectations rise, simple as that. I didn't think he was worth anything close to a Top pick so to see the Rams trade that much ammo and to see him look the way he does is very refreshing. Dude was a loser in college and looks the part early. Newton looked promising. Luck looked promising. Goff looks completely lost and overwhelmed again, it is the ammo that was used to get him as opposed to a team just being in the #1 slot already and taking their guy is the difference.

Blocking. For both.
