It's early but wentz looks like the much better choice. Helps that he has doug pederson and not boras/fisher. Of goff is a bust I wouldn't mind that. Alot of picks a division rival invested in him.

Always been. No surprising that he couldn't even beat the worst defense in the NFL. Dude is a bum

Should of never been drafted number 1 overall

True. He should've been drafted #2 behind Connor Cook, who was the best QB in the draft.

Goff will be a great QB in a few years. It's amazing how short-sided people can be. A rookie on the friggn' Rams who came out of college early is supposed to immediately play well? That's not how it works.

Yes. Goff is fine, even better than fine - he is surprising me with how well he's handling his current circumstance.

If you think Goff is a problem on the Rams, you are not paying attention - just going for the easy thought.

Not necessarily play well, just look like he knows what he's doing. He looks clueless, talentless and overwhelmed. Wentz, from ND State at least looks like he has a clue and did so from the first game in the NFL whereas Goff looked horrible in camp (thank you Hard Knocks for that), got a chance to sit and learn for half a season and still looks horrendous at the end of the year. Dude looked like the same bag of s**t despite playing at home vs the worst defense in the league
Once they start blocking for him he'll be fine. Same story with most QBs.

The question should be rephrased to say "was he worth trading all those picks to move up to #1?" So far, hell no.

No quarterback in their rookie year, save for Dan Marino has looked like that in year 1. This isn't even a fair question.

Meaning...No Rookie was ever good???

No. It means no rookie QB performed so well that they appeared to be worth trading a boat load of picks to acquire if you ONLY want to look at their rookie year, save for Dan Marino. Even the great Peyton Manning was an interception machine in year 1. Honorable mentions would go to Big Ben and Dak Prescott.

Had the Rams had the #1 overall pick and just selected him, it would be different. The fact that they traded a bunch of future top picks for him and the expectations rise, simple as that. I didn't think he was worth anything close to a Top pick so to see the Rams trade that much ammo and to see him look the way he does is very refreshing. Dude was a loser in college and looks the part early. Newton looked promising. Luck looked promising. Goff looks completely lost and overwhelmed again, it is the ammo that was used to get him as opposed to a team just being in the #1 slot already and taking their guy is the difference.

That make sense. I was looking at it from the perspective of the pick paying immediate dividends, hence the Dan Marino reference. I think Cam Newton had a great rookie year. A trade like the one the Rams made for a season like Cam had in year 1 would give cause for hope, because you saw tons of potential and promise and Cam showed playmaking ability, but I still wouldn't consider the trade worth it if we were only to look at year 1.

I suppose the real issue is that the Rams have yet to see the potential flash for any return on their investment. I'm not worried about him yet however. Especially if the Rams hire the right coach.

Gurley seemed a lot more quicker last year and the Rams Oline wasn't great then as well.
