Oh man, no way. No way can anybody make a Peyton Manning analogy to Jared Goff.

For those of us who actually saw Peyton Manning's rookie season and not just his stat line: Everybody in the world walked away from that season knowing Manning was going to be a franchise QB. While, of course, he made rookie mistakes... Manning was making consistent big time throws and was commanding the offense at the end of the season.

If ANYBODY from this past draft class should get compared to Peyton Manning it would be Wentz. It's still not a good compare, but better than one involving Jared Goff.

Nobody is railing on Wentz for being a bust because he has shown time and time again that he can make plays at this level. There is -- literally -- zero evidence that Jared Goff can play at this level. He has piss poor accuracy. His poise boarders on cowardly. He isn't a leader. And he makes absolutely terrible decisions.

Not once. Not just a few times. All the time.

There is absolutely nothing a rational person can point to in Jared Goff's season that even remotely looks like the makings of a franchise QB. There is not a sane person in this world who can leave the 2016 season saying "Well, the Rams got their guy...".

Umm how many times am I gonna say this........he's a ROOKIE!!!!

Every other rookie who has played this year has showed more promise. That's especially true if adjusted for their draft position.

This thread isn't about whether or not Jared "give him some time" Goff will get better. He will.

It's about whether or not he's a bust relative to his draft position. Of course he is.

And from the small sample Goff has had, he's shown he can play and start in this league too.

You straight up calling him a bust couldn't be more premature. I mean what good is this thread if everyone agrees that Goff is a bust already, should I just lock it up since it already came to a conclusion and serves no purpose?

Of course not. I see several people in this thread on both sides of the debate

And teams who try the "win-now" strategy consistently suck. See the Redskins.

You don't draft a QB #1 overall to win right away. That's literally never happened.

Yeah but that qb that can win, shows he can play and not need years to start learning how to play qb

Which Peyton clearly didn't do his rookie year either.

This is the stupidest thread of the year. This is probably the same lot who were crowning RGIII & Bradford HOFers. Goff is nothing like what he's going to be in 2 years.

Peyton set five rookie records, five (5)

Pretty sure one of those must've been interceptions for a rookie.

Who gives a s**t about records? He sucked as a rookie, and so did the Colts. He also came out after his SENIOR season & was far more NFL ready than Goff is.

Expecting Goff to do anything but suck his rookie season is f***ing ret***ed. I was a Goff fan, and even I said (before the season started) that he shouldn't even sniff the field his rookie year. He's useless at this point, like Alex Smith was as a rookie (similar situations).

Lol, he didn't suck for a rookie.

Goff still hasn't shown any signs of life after his rookie contract is done
Peyton threw 26 TDs as a rookie, on a bad Colts team. He definitely didn't suck. There's no comparison, really, other than both being drafted #1 overall.

Not necessarily play well, just look like he knows what he's doing. He looks clueless, talentless and overwhelmed.

And the fact that this is news to you shows you weren't paying attention during the draft process. Everyone who was paying attention knew Goff was sushi. I wouldn't have even put him on the field until 2017.

Not put a 1st overall pick that you gave up the farm for on the field? This isn't 2001. These guys are coming out more prepared than ever and immediately having at least a smidgeon of success. This dude looks HORRIBLE. Not even close to resembling anything close to a 1st round pick, let alone the #1 overall pick that they felt they needed to trade the farm for

The circumstance is my biggest issue with Goff. Got it, he is a rookie. So what? Cam looked promising. Luck looked promising and they were both taken #1 by a team that was already in that position. The fact that the Rams traded soooo much to move all the way up to #1 and this dude looks this damn garbage is what makes me I didn't care for Goff prior to the draft and for him to sit for half a season while Wentz and Dak are playing and showing very good signs of being competent, this dude looks talentless. I understand he is a rookie and will be overwhelmed and clueless at times, but to look overwhelmed and clueless ALL OF THE TIME and talentless as the #1 overall pick is unacceptable, period. Don't give a s**t how he turns out a few years from now because he isn't on our team. The fact that a division rival took a guy that I didn't care for to begin with and traded so much assets to get him and he looks like this makes me a very, very happy man

THIS! f**k Goff. Dude is a bum that beat up on weak ass teams in the Pac 12 but couldn't beat any good teams. I'm glad the Rams traded that much to get this guy. He couldn't even look competent vs the worst defense in the league 4 months into the season

So if you like a QB you only see the best and potential, but if you don't you highlight their Crap! RG3,Bradford, and Petyton were all better than Goff Rookie year. Bradford was mediocre at best, but he had poise, Peyton had full control and RG3 was athletically one of the best. Goff has not shown anything so far. No crap he has to show improvement the next few years to even justify why he is a starting QB.
