Goff looked decent against the Raiders. He looked terrible today. I'm going ahead and say this. I like beathard better than goff. When goff has to move in the pocket he doesn't reload very well and get the ball out. Beathard does, which means beathard will handle pressure much better moving forward.

I had season tickets to Cal when Goff was at Cal. He was the master of a bizarre offense run by Sonny Dykes, it was over 50% bubble screens and a lot of one read short passes. Was his completion rate high, yes, did he score more TD's than int, yes, does that make him a pro qb, NO.
I also watched Andrew Luck and paid for season tickets to Stanford. He Was and is the real deal. He was worth giving up a lot for, Goff no.
CJ Beathard is lucky, with a 3rd round pick status he will have the luxury of not having the pressure of having to carry the franchise, which only a few qbs can do

That is EXACTLY what you should do in the preseason. No completion is worth a hit in the preseason.
He looked scared.
Yeah, he got hit anyway. The idea is to make it worth taking the hit. Some guys play a whole lot different from practice when they know they will get hit from the opponents.

Goff just looks unimpressive. Doesnt look confident. Looks a bit more confident than last year but not enough. Looks like he gets flustered pretty easily.
Beathard seems like pressure doesnt faze him much.

If it's between making a bad pass and risking a hit in the preseason? He'd be a moron to choose the latter. Preseason matters for nothing; it's not like he's trying to win a starting job.

Lol at trying to defend Goff with that poor rationale just because you've already deemed him a future probowl QB. The point of preseason is to get a player's feet wet, get them prepared for the real deal, and get the coaches some film to evaluate the roster. He didn't make the bad pass because it's preseason. He made the bad pass because he's, at this time, a bad quarterback. He wouldn't have, had this been week one of the season, been like "well, this game counts so let me make a better throw"

lol it's preseason. Every friggn' year.
Here's a list of priorities for starters in the meaningless preseason:
1. Don't get injured
2. Don't get injured
3. Don't get injured
4. Don't get injured
5. Don't get injured
And I already know Goff isn't a good QB yet. I don't expect him to be. Not for another year or so.

Yes, but, that still doesn't make the interception a penalty of that priority.

It does if standing in the pocket longer or running around Kaepernick style is what it takes to make a good pass.
