Love how ppl are so quick to go from a bust to a franchise changing QB, let's pump the brakes just a tad, this kid has not faced a top defense yet..let's see what he does vs Seattle or Carolina types..then let's give observations..

It's the zone. What do you expect?

Lol. Honestly we were pretty bad on D last night!!! We had moments where we stepped up, but we were bad.

We were tired, and so were they. Plus missing Foster and Reid.
Goff isn't the next coming, yet, but he looks real good for a 2nd year player and a lot better than the guy taken just behind him. He's got some flaws, but he's young and he's got what appears to be a good HC to help work on those flaws. Assuming he continues to progress it is going to suck going up against him twice a year into the future.

They also have built a solid OLine to protect him and open lanes.
Dude admit he's wrong yet?
Still a bust
I hope he continues to play well so that the Rams give the Seahawks a run for the division. The Niners are awful, the Cardinals look bad (2-2, but their point differential is -17 on the year). Don't want to see a weakened Seattle team have the division title gift-wrapped for them.

Goff coming up. Im hoping they can't sustain this offense too long. I know Gurley is on Fiiiire right now making the offense look easy, making the head coach and Goff look like geniuses.
I feel what their team is showing is a FUGAZI and will come back down to earth. And when they do our guys will be more knowledgeable in this offense and our D will be more prepared as we are improving weekly.

Ryan Leaf is an all-pro compared to Goff!
He busted on our back after he done f**ked us
Called this dude when he came out and the Zone clowned. Same fools that hyped Vance McDonald. Yes I'm bragging.
more proof that the NFL is a coach's league
i really resent hes a ram but im glad hes doing well. i liked him at cal but i wasn't too sure how he would do in the nfl.

I watched every Cal game the last ten years. (Cal fan) Goff didnt do much his rookie year. He was frazzled at times in the pocket, made stupid decisions and just didn't have "it" but he came back his sophomore year and looked like a different QB.

In the second year his accuracy was on point, went through full progressions even while being under pressure most of the time. He ran the offense as it was designed. Ya, it was the bear raid but he made "wow" throws multiple times in most games. Threw with touch, anticipation and accuracy. Good deep ball. Great feel for the pocket. Great footwork.

There's a reason he went #1. A reason he was considered top 2 in the class. He has a lot of natural talent.

So what happened? Well, he was drafted by Jeff Fisher and thrown to the wolves. Atop of that I think it takes Goff time to adjust to new settings. Especially the jump to the NFL.

He's going to play better this year. Not top ten or maybe not even top 15 but he's going to do much better in a real offense with some weapons. I'll put $500 on that.

Do much better?? I hope so...he was horrendous last year. Nowhere to go but up. That's like saying Alex would do better his 2nd season..s**t I hope so since that rookie season was ridiculously awful.

After seeing the first four games I think he'll end up between top 10 and 15 at the end of the year. That's a huge improvement from pretty much last. IMO there will be a couple stinker games this year with multiple ints that drop his current rank. (Vs teams with a monster pass rush)

He showed the same sort of progress at Cal after the jump from freshman to sophomore. Not totally seen in the statistics but his overall comfort level in the offense and ability to run the offense in general. It was night and day. I think some of it was psychological. He's a slower learner and needs to build confidence.

I also think Jeff Fisher was the wrong coach to develop Goff and amplified Goff's tendency to start slow in new settings. Add poor blocking and a lack of WR's- it was the perfect storm for failure.

More proof that people with the NFL-analyzing capacities of goldfish (and long-term memories to boot) call a QB a bust because he's not good as a rookie.
