He's not an official bust yet, but not being able to beat out Case Keenum says he is not worthy of the first round pick. You guys with the man crush on Goff are funny. Listen, the truth is Fisher is likely coaching for his job, if Goff was a better option than Keenum, he'd be starting. Spending as much as they did to get Goff only makes sense if you expect to get a day one starter. I think it's hilarious that the rams screwed themselves so bad.

man thank you for this voice of reason. he sits on purpose, not due to lack of ability to beat out keenum.

Nobody sits on purpose. If he could play they would play him. He has not demonstrated the ability to play as of yet.

well we just do not know that. i think he sits on purpose and this has been reported several times that they want to bring him along slowly. the plan is to let him learn and not burn him. they bought his ceilling. everybody said before the draft it would be best to sit him and give him time to learn and now as they are actually doing it people say he cannot beat of keenum and is a monster bust.

IKR. They have the DEFENSE all he has to do is manage the game and the QB he is trying to beat out has more INT than TD. So the plan is to sacrifice LA RAMS organization and fans base because by sitting him this year he will be the savior next year. Got it!
Bust. If he could handle the mental part of the game, he'd be playing by now. He's got a problem.

And even suggesting that a guy who's never taken an NFL snap is a bust is silly. Especially at 21.

This. Absolutely ridiculous.

I think more teams would benefit by not throwing out rookie QBs right off the bat and giving them time to iron out their issues.

If Goff isnt starting by next season lets talk but until then, no, just no.

Of course not. You have to understand both Sam Snead and Jeff Fisher love their jobs and would want to carry on doing so and getting paid millions for it.

Is very simple, they are not going to feature Goff until they believe the kid is 100% ready and going to shine like a star. Because if Goff is not ready by the time they play him, they would be signing their own firing orders given the Rams gave up so much to go up to No.1 overall in order to pick him.

Best post in this thread. Snead and Fisher basically cashed in all their chips on Goff. The moment he starts playing is the moment the clocks start ticking on their careers. They get the benefit of the doubt until then so they wont play Goff until they are confident that he is fully ready to go, not just ready for a rookie.
I will wait until I actually see him play in a game before calling him a bust.
Yes cause every 1st rounder needs to be a pro bowler from day one.

lol

Gabbert is. He was a top 15 pick and is horrible. Kap was a 2nd round pick that has won big games, put together an impressive playoff resume, broke records and played in a SB after a phenomenal run in 2012. He just fell off after he experienced A TON of success. He's not a bust, he just isn't very good at the moment although this last game was a good sign. Ponder is a bust

Goff hasn't taken a snap yet so we won't know nor will we know for about two years to three years if we want to be fair. Being the #1 overall pick comes with higher expectations than a 2nd round pick but he still needs a shot before we can say

Yes cause every 1st rounder needs to lose a QB battle to Case Keenum from day one.

The only people defending Goff in this thread are the ones who went absolutely insane for him pre-draft.

Lesson: Don't believe the hype.

Incorrect. I was very anti Goff during the draft process. I wanted Noah Spence. But I am not going to proclaim Goff is a bust cause he can't get into a game. Goff sitting a year almost guarantees Fishers and his OC a job next year.

I guess Tom Brady was a bust because he couldn't beat out crappy Drew Bledsoe his first year.

Oh f**k. It's the Tom Brady defense. Why not toss Kurt Warner's name in there as well?

For anybody who wants to use an all-time great in their defense for a prospect not starting -- please also cite the literally hundreds of other quarterbacks who flamed out.
