The Goff/Belichick SB matchup was just unfair. People were out of their minds thinking the Rams would win that game.

Eli Manning beat Belichick. So lets not start thinking you need to be a god-like QB to beat the Patriots.

Had Goff hit the wide open Cooks, it would have been a completely different story.

The majority of the game was a one-score game, so I don't know why you think its crazy Rams could have won. It wasn't a blowout.

Eli stood in there and made throws at that point in his career. Foles plays with balls too. I feel safe saying Goff never will be that guy. He's as soft as they come, and he doesn't see the field well. Nice arm, but that's literally all he brings.

Rams D did a great job of keeping the game close, but Goff was that bad. They obviously "could" have won the game. Even I know they could have, but you had to be out of your mind to think they would. I chose the Patriots, mainly because Jared Goff is the Rams QB.
I know he is still young but I'm wondering how is this kid upstairs? As in does he have the capacity to get away from his college rpo system- and McVays headset whispering- to become a complete qb?

He has the touch for sure.

That's about as bad of a game as you'll see out of a Superbowl QB. He missed at least 2 extremely easy pitch and catch TDs, and a handful of other big plays. The statline doesn't look horrendous but just watching him play you'd have to say this was one of the top 5 worst Superbowl QB performances of the past 30 years

I know you love to bash on them but this doesn't even begin to make sense in anyway, shape or form.

The rebuild started in 2017 when Baalke was fired, Shanahan and Lynch were hired and 90%+ of the roster was blown up.

If you're arguing that Shanahan and McVay took over teams at similar stages in roster development, then that is simply laughable. The Rams have had the same GM since 2012 and huge chunks of their roster preceded McVay.

The 49ers have been rebuilding since they fired Harbaugh. That was my point in response to the comment about the Rams rebuilding since 2010.

Might want to ask for a TD and a FG or the game would have still been a L.

A TD any time before the last 4 minutes would have prevented the collapse that lead to the last FG. If it had happened earlier than the 4th qtr, they likely would have won.

That said, The Rams have shown this season over a number of games that without Gurley, they have nothing going on offense. Their defense is amazing.

Technically you can't win a SB tied at 10. Anyway you break it down they needed 2 scores.

Wish Shanahan and Lynch could have created some of that context here.

Wish Shanahan and Lynch had the luxury of taking over a roster that had been rebuilding since like 2010.

True, the 49ers are only in year 5 of rebuilding.

Shanahan and Lynch been here 5 years? wow, time does fly.

Yeah because that's what he said.

Generslly, I think it is fair to mark to start of a rebuild at the time when there is a clear out of coaches and front office. So yes, in effect it was what he said. Problem with that?

So the Rams rebuild started when McVay and his staff came in rather than 2010 as asserted in the comment I responded to?
I am just trying to compare apples to apples here.

...and they have extensions coming for a number of players that must be fit around some huge deals already on the books.
