Losing Gore, Willis, Justin Smith, Aldon Smith, Iupati...That is more talent lost in 2014 than in any year since. They retained everyone except 5 All Pros?

You can repeat that all you like, you're still wrong each time. The 49ers dumping Harbaugh didn't suddenly make them a rebuilding team. They held on to the GM, 99% of the front office and most of the roster. That isn't a rebuild.

They were pretty specific about the plan being to make a playoff run with Tomsula as HC. You can call that delusional but its clear what their intent was.

A rebuild is like when Nolan came in, cleaning out the front office, starting over with an almost entirely new roster. Or with Lynch and Shanahan who have replaced over 90% of the roster in two years and completely blew up the front office.

I'm sorry..
Did you really state "the front offices plan was to make a playoff run" and that is your basis for saying that A REBUILD wasn't started the minute J. Harbaugh left the building!

Wow..
Come on Phoenix..

You can say ANOTHER or THE 2nd REBUILD started when Lynch/Kyle took over, but we were definitely in rebuild mold when Harbaugh left..

The fact that lynch and shanny have replaced almost all of the roster from they came in should tell anyone this is a new rebuild. Not a continuation. For doing that, they're doing a solid job so far. Especially with later picks in the draft. Wish Solomon Thomas improves at dt and stays there

This may be a new rebuild but the 49ers were rebuilding in 2016 and 2017 as well.

True nothing AB won't fix.

That year the team lost the best coach the Yorks ever hired and probably the four best players to come along in the York era in Cowboy, Willis, Gore and Aldon.

What your saying is true, but I see Phoenix's point. The York's were so enamored with Baalke they thought we weren't gonna skip a beat.

We finally had our Steve Kerr.

5 years is a drop in the bucket after 3 years of deep playoffs football
Jimmy G. will be in the playoffs this coming year.

49ers were in rebuild after JH left out of necessity. We lost just about the entire d/ ol/ receivers. Then when Shanny came we scrapped plans and started a new rebuild over it. Still the rebuild date starts at year 2 when Shanny was hired. Outside of Buckner nothing was kept.

Dude is an idiot, anyone with half a brain can see harbs was the one giving us wins, yet he didn't get "along" with him, if I'm an owner and someone who works for me produces and makes me rich, I don't care if he the biggest asshat in the world, York has burned this s**t into your f**king ground

I mean he was starting to not give us as many wins as he stayed here longer.. just like every other place hes been. Let's not make it like harbaugh won us like 90 chips or something...

Kyle has not been able to give as many wins as Harbaugh had in his worst year.

that may be true with a whole rebuilding thing with kyle, but you know they've both lost in the superbowl. So theres that and Kyle's offense actually looks legit. Also they're both tied in the "winnin a championship for the 49ers" atm while one still has a chance
