Do we really need Butler now? Seems like our DB's are set for now. Would like to see us try and find a Sherman type in the mid rounds who can be groomed by Sherman for a year or two before taking over. Sure hope Reid comes back on a team friendly deal to battle for the SS spot. If Reid wins the spot then Tartt back up both safety spots, and if Reid loses, then Reid backs up both safety spots. Win-Win for us, because we'd have coverage at the safety spot, to go along with Reids leadership on this team.

I think it's a good deal for both sides and if he gets back to 100% and plays well our secondary could be one of the best in the league.

If we go after Butler though where would he start? You gotta start Spoon and Sherman because they have the size for the outsides. Butler as the nickel? He may ask for Sherman money though and I doubt Lynch will go there. I know for sure at least in my mind, Johnson is definitely out of the picture.

Interesting. Just $7M in base salary. $6M more in incentives. Sherman is betting on himself in a big way. $16M in base for 2019 & '20 becomes guaranteed if he's All-Pro. Another option would've been signing a 1-year & be a free agent again in 2019. Will watch this play out.

That's a good shout. I also think we could cut Ward and maybe draft Derwin James to play the Chancellor type role.
