A text from @RSherman_25 about him agreeing to terms with the 49ers: "I'm excited. A lot of HOF DBs have gone through this incredible organization and I am looking to uphold that standard."

Good news is Sherman is a smart guy so he probably should be able to straighten out some of these rookies (cough foster cough). Saleh knows what he's getting also.
I think worst case scenario is he's not that good and then goes off and Blames saleh for sucking and creates a big scene.

He's a douche but our douche now. He will work hard and is very smart. Gonna be similar to draymond for the dubs.

I hope this dude is not a Brandon Jacobs type signing.
If he can regain most of his play, its a great signing. If not, it could go south.
Overall happy wiht the signing.

I just don't see that happening with Sherman. Jacobs was a f**king knob job. Sherman, if nothing else, can be a mentor to a lot of young guys. That alone has the potential to be worth far more than 39M over three years.

He's a giant jerk but he also handles his business. Reputed film junky and guy who doesn't stop grinding, looking to improve his technique and abilities, he'll be a good influence on Weatherspoon and any other young CB's the 49ers may pickup.

At the same time I'd still go after another CB because you can never have too much depth back there the way ours always seem to get injured, and I'm not really too sold on any of our other CBs. Witherspoon def seems promising but with young players you never know. It would also be good insurance on the offchance the Sherman signing doesn't work out or someone else gets injured.
I agree with you that Sherman is a good signing for San Francisco. The defense has some good young talent on it but is missing a leader on the field. Sherman is that guy for the next year or two. This will (hopefully) raise the play of those around him.
