If he can regain most of his play, its a great signing. If not, it could go south.
Overall happy wiht the signing.
I just don't see that happening with Sherman. Jacobs was a f**king knob job. Sherman, if nothing else, can play a mentor type roll to a lot of young guys. that alone has the potential to be worth far more than 39M over three years.

He's a giant jerk but he also handles his business. Reputed film junky and guy who doesn't stop grinding, looking to improve his technique and abilities, he'll be a good influence on Weatherspoon and any other young CB's the 49ers may pickup.
god its so weird to see all of us defending and praising sherman.

Yeah, he is really annoying with his antics, but if he performs out on the field and helps the other DB's perform, people will let that stuff slide quick.

Bit worried about lynch and his spending though
I'm not. These contacts including Jimmy Gs are front loaded. These next two years have lots of room and I'm doubting we keep Sherman in 2020. This gives us time to develop our own picks who will be much cheaper.

This isn't quite the same feeling lol. I do think this is probably the 49ers most significant FA signing since Deion, if for no other reason than the name and the history between us and him.

This'd be more like if Draymond had been with the Cavs and been a W's nemesis the past 5 years and then jumped ship to join the Dubs

He could. True. I could be totally wrong.
But, Sherman is all about proving himself. He just signed a contract that is, considering taxes etc. - and for all intents and purposes - exactly what Seattle would have paid him by honoring his contract for three years @11M. I think Sherman is here to stick it to the Seahawks. And, that chip on his shoulder so many of us hated in the past, will pay dividends both now, in the win column, and in the future, by being a leader / mentor.
