Ok, I'll admit it gets me excited. If he makes a full recovery and continues to get away with holding, this could be a wonderful signing! 🤞

Are we still in pursuit of Malcolm Butler despite this signing?

Maybe. I would think we still might be in the market for a second FA CB, but who that target is is anyone's guess. I think they will want to hedge their bets a bit in case it takes Sherman a bit to get fully healthy.

Butler might be a bit rich though for that role. But depends what they want to spend.
Jimmy G + Sherman = FA's will want to play here

Be thinking we would want to match to what the Rams are doing in the secondary.
If Sherman comes back anywhere near to a 100% then this should be a good signing for us. It will be a bit strange seeing him in our colors, but he's a top player and it will be great to have him on our side!

Really? I'd think we should counter it. You know, with wide receivers. I don't know of any time in a game where cornerbacks match up with opposing teams cornerbacks.

Lambs are doing it the wrong way...trading picks for short-term rentals with baggage

Niners at least are getting someone immersed in their scheme & who can help tutor their young DBs...they'll likely go the mid-level FA or draft another prospect route to add depth to the secondary, therefore I wouldn't hold my breath for another big CB signing
I'm pretty keen for his presser.
This is pretty amazing. I hope he can get 100% healthy again. If so he can definitely help this team. But expectations need to be realistic. He is coming off of what 2 achilles surgeries? Plus he is a bit older now. Also not to be forgotten is all the rules changes which made it illegal to play like the Seahawks and Sherman played. It's what made him so great. All the cheating that he got away with. Which you no longer can because of the new "Seahawks rules" which were put in place to combat all their blatant cheating. That said if healthy he can still help us a lot and is potentially a big upgrade for this team.

I'm glad to have him but we will see how his health holds up and how he does with the new rules which were designed in no small part to combat his very own cheating schemes of blatantly holding players on every single play. Under the old rules and at full health he is an all world FA signing. Under the new rules and coming off injuries and surgeries I don't know. We will see. But I still like the signing and an incentive laden contract over 3 years. So he has to earn it and prove it coming off the bad health problems. Maybe he will. I hope he does.
