It's a good contract on an Achilles recovery. Let's get him into TC and see what he's still got. His personality just rub some people all wrong like Deion when he signed with the Niners back in 94

I have to admit, from what I know of the contract, it's very team friendly.

Have admit when I saw the breaking news 3 yrs 39mil contract with 5mil gtd, I thought they way overpaid for a guy coming off an Achilles. But then I calmed down a bit and thought maybe it's just inflated for headline purposes.

This doesn't preclude them from going after another CB in FA or the draft.
As much as I do not like his attitude. Yet if you look back he had the same attitude towards every opponent. He called Roddy White mediocre (as he was at that point in his career), as he did with Crabtree (as we know is true).
Fact is we needed an upgrade at DB, Sherman fits the system, also he is a hard worker, he does not get into trouble off the field, (see Foster, Reuben). If he's not worth it, they will release him as they did with Dumervil.

Yeah, calling it a team friendly contract I think is right on. Give him a year to prove himself - if he plays well, he get's paid in '19 and '20.
HOLY SH@T! We signed Sherman! Did not think it was going to happen that fast, not with having to check out and make sure his health is all good. Won't know for sure till he runs and cuts on it with pads. It all hinges on his health. Better play well Sherman to convince those hating on you and prevent the boo birds from coming up

On paper it makes sense, he fits what the niners want physically from their CB, Is familiar with the scheme, is familiar with the NFC west and knows the seahawks and wants his chance to get back at Wilson.

Looking at what is being reported about the contract, it will be worth more than 39 million if all incentives are hit. This year is 10 million and 3 mill if he gets to the pro bowl, which all triggers him getting 16 million as base for the 2nd and 3rd years. If he gets pro bowl then it will be a great signing, but he will have stiff comp for that. Heard he represented himself with no agent. It seems like a good and fair contract for both sides, Trumaine would have costed way more, although he is younger. We are still drafting a CB to develop in the future though.
I'm sure people have already thrown all the tweets out but nice

Just saw the contract breakdown great for both sides

Definitely. If he cant get healthy its a one year rental.

It's okay to feel like this at first, if he comes back healthy and plays well hell yeah

Yep this is a one year contract. Unless he shines.
I'm sure this was already posted

need a leader for the defense. check. need a coach for the kids in the secondary and overall in the defense. check. need a nasty tone setter like we had in the past check. a playmaker instead of a scrub like ward and asa. check. incentive filled so he does not damage the financial house,.check. they would not do this had they had issues with his injuries. we needed to do something for us with that glaring hole out there.do not have to waste a first round risky pick on this hole. perfect signing. people who hate it only because he ate turkey on our field and used to own our soft players like crabtree and ck.. are short sighted . perfect signing and lynch saw what the rams were doing. perfect signing
