If he doesn't earn all-pro but still plays well there's no reason for SF to not bring him back under the terms of the contract for 2019. It just won't automatically kick in.

The years are there. It just won't be guaranteed in that case.
Saw this article on why Sherm represents himself and has no agent. Good stuff.

"I didn't feel like I needed one," Sherman said. "I can have conversations with general managers and understand my value in comparison to other players in the league." Sherman continued, saying it would be cheaper to hire a lawyer and pay a one-time fee rather than give a cut of his next contract to an agent.

"A one-time fee to any contract lawyer, there are many lawyers that work with the league and through the NFLPA," he said, adding, "There's nothing that an agent could do for me that I couldn't do for myself or I couldn't hire someone to do at a smaller fee."

Lol at all these thinned skin sissy's in here. Get over it, its time to accept that maybe if the niners didnt let the Seahawks punk us in their house and somtimes ours, a lot of us wouldnt be talking about Sherman like he's the worst human being in the world.

Dude is betting on himself and wanted to be here and if history taught us anything, its dont ever bet against Sherman.

let me edit before dudes get offended lmao.

never had a problem with his antics, if you don't want him talking then you should've beat him. wished we had a player with his kind of passion and cover ability during our playoff years, we probably would've won a SB.

To fans hurt about Sherman eating turkey:

That was a network decision. It was thanksgiving, winning team would eat turkey on the 50. Kap looked worthless, had no heart and we got our ass whopped. It wasn't like Sherman asked NBC to put the turkey on the 50. Ratings. Hate Kap for that game. Get over it, and let's murder the chickens twice this year

After hearing him speak on a number of interviews throughout the years, he's a bright man.

The guy is a Stanford grad. One of the finest education universities in America.

VERY smart move on his part.

It sounds like he doesnt like dealing with the agent BS and just wanted to get settled quickly. Picking a team who runs the defense he is used to was a no brainer.
Think with your head, not your hearts people.

This move makes too much sense. Good signing. Hope he gets all of that money.

he is a great player and a great student of the game which tells me he will be a great coach for the secondary and gives us an edge which may not show up in quik stats but one we have sorely lacked.. if you can not get past your past hatred for someone just cuz he backed up his talk with his play when he played us. that is your problem

VERY solid post!!
