Solid signing! If healthy he will lock down his side of field.
Can't wait for him to pick off Russ Wilson!

That's pretty much how I feel right now. It's similar to how I felt about Ray McDonald. I never cared much at all for him as a person, but every time he nailed a running back in the backfield for a loss I'd find myself thinking "way to go, Ray Mac!".
I'll be open to see if Sherman has matured and if so, I could very well end up thinking of him as not being a douche anymore. But he's going to have to show me his douchelessness.

The most interesting take on this video (IMO), is that it dispels the widely accepted narrative of Earl Thomas,
being the total brain-trust for the LOB. Not trying to discount Earl and his abilities … yet it's crystal to me, that
Sherm, held his own with regard to his, as well as others assignments, within Seattle's Defensive Scheme.
As mentioned early in the clip, he doesn't totally rely on athletic ability, but a combination of his physical attributes,
plus intellect to get the job done … while mastering his craft.

He's also a master of getting under peoples skin and shaking their focus. Hell we could almost say he ruined Kap and made Crabtree quite on this team.

Funny as hell to read some of the previous posts full of hate. Sure are quiet now though.

Unquestionably a good move for three reasons:
1. The contract recognizes that the injury might slow him down but also he could continue to play at a Pro Bowl level. Compensation is commensurate.
2. He is a great student of the game who knows how to play the game and teach it to others. He brings veteran leadership to a young secondary.
3. The timing is genius. There has been three headline-making moves leading into FA: The Peters trade. The Talib trade...and now the Sherman signing. All three shake the tree. At a time that the Rams were getting all the publicity for being a big mover in improving their team, Lynch/Shanahan go out and make a move that not only improves the team but does so at an ideal time. It spikes the Rams' cannon. The talk now shifts from LA to SF...and at a level similar to Charles Haley or TO going to Dallas.
While the Peters and Talib trades both come with character questions, the Sherman deal does not, and it comes just as the FA door actually opens. This signing, along with the reminder of Jimmy G, clearly establishes SF as a preferred FA destination. Sherman had made other appointments with other teams but the fact he went to SF first and never left, sends a huge message to other FAs. That in itself may be worth the signing even if he never sees the field.

What a great video
+1
Even if he doesn't make the probowl as long as he shows he can play we need to keep him. Guy is literally another Coach on the field and can teach all of our young guys the keys and tricks to be good in this league.

I'm now declaring this the official site of the San Francico 49ers....since those other guys are so slow.
They must not work weekends during the off-season
