Originally posted by Bobdawg78:As far as Wards number, personally I only want Ward back if he's willing to sign for like 3 years and 12 million total, otherwise we should just let him go, and have that 8.5 million basically be what Sherman is making this year. Safety is covered by Colbert and Tartt, we just need to get Reid to come back for a team friendly deal 3 years 15 million total to battle Tartt for the starting SS spot. Who ever loses that battle, becomes the back up FS/SS, since both guys can play both positions. Ward to me is extremely expendable, especially at that huge cap number for him.
Right because his legacy has been so memorable

Sherman is making like 9 million this year or less if he doesn't make his smaller incentives, and can make up to 12 million this year if he makes the Pro Bowl, so saying that the 8.5 million we would save by cutting Ward is basically paying Shermans salary this year is pretty much true.

It's wild to think that this could potentially (if even 80-85% healthy) be our first true #1 CB in decades. Possibly since Deion.
Can't wait to see him on the field, especially motivated against Seattle.

Never said he was making exactly 8.5 million. How about you tell me what he is making next year Brodie? It's all based on incentives, so tell me EXACTLY what he is gonna make next year to the dollar.
