(In other words, the Seahawks can cut Sherman after the 2018 season even if he's injured during the 2018 season; the injury protection doesn't kick in until the middle of March.)
Translation:
Seahawks fans (what's left of them) will ballot stuff Sherman into Pro Bowl so Niners have to pay him $$$
Point 10 makes it sound like that's not necessarily the case (also it has a typo lol).
no that makes perfect sense. Point 10 that is.
I meant it has a typo because it says Seahawks lol.
But seriously, even if he makes the Pro Bowl, we can still cut him before mid-March without having to pay anything for 2019-20?

Yeah that line makes no sense now that I re-read that.

Wow.
After signing Sherman and re-signing Garraopolo, Goodwin, Kilgore, Marsh and Gilliam we have nearly 70 million in cap space.

Before Goodwin, his terms aren't in yet.
Also on that 10th point, florio worded it terrible, read NFL.com's article, it becomes GTD if he makes the Pro Bowl, but we can cut him after 2018 and not owe him anything.

Yes, but could he have gotten a ring elsewhere?

So... is it guaranteed or not? These two statements seem to contradict each other.

He got something this year, either a signing bonus, which would prorate over 4 yrs, or a GTD roster bonus like all the other guys have gotten(except Sherman).

GTD for injury only.

Hopefully he doesn't sneak into the Pro Bowl and then maintains an injury

The GTD doesn't kick in until the 2019 and 2020 new league years, so that makes it so he can be cut following the 2018 season, and they owe him nothing else. And just have $2M in dead money in 2019. It's very confusing at first.
From NFL.com.
Firstly, only Sherman's 2019 base salary ($8 million) becomes guaranteed if he makes the Pro Bowl this coming season. (There will be no guarantees in 2020 yet.) The guarantee is for injury only and doesn't kick in until the third day of the league year. It doesn't become fully guaranteed until April 1, 2019. In other words, no matter what Sherman does this season, the Niners can cut him without owing him anything before the start of the next league year.
From the way NFL.com's wording, it seems even if injured they can cut him and not owe him a cent. Not all contracts have an injury protection in them. Kind of a loophole so to speak, even though the player/agent would file a grievance, but since Sherman is his own agent, he agreed to this.

For the Pro Bowl incentive, he has to be elected, he cant be named as an alternate, A few yrs back Donte Whitner was named to pro bowl as an alternate, and had an Incentive, but it didn't get earned cause he wasn't named to the Pro Bowl outright.
