More than that, I think he could be someone to help Garoppolo even. Sherman's strength isn't so much his athletic ability as it is his awareness, football IQ and attention to detail.
Pointing out tendencies on film coming from a CB's perspective could be useful to a QB if they care to learn.
he is a natural born leader.. i would love to have anyone tell me who the leader on the defense is after bowman left?/ anyone? exactly cc's point,
On the field: Reid
Locker room/Sideline/IR: Smith
EDIT: Did you just refer to yourself in the 3rd person or think you were on one of your alternate accounts?

When I read the Sports Illustrated Article, I interpreted that statement as a Double Entendre …
Although the current GM/FO have no ties to Super Bowl XLVII … IMO, Lynch used it as a POR,
to better relate to Sherman ?

what they did. what they wore means nothing to me when they put on a niner uniform. we can blame ourselves for playing soft and being coached soft vs the hawks. cept for gore who willed us down the field with a broken finger in the last nfc title game we played

Late in the process, when Sherman and the Niners agreed on most of the incentives in the deal, he got back to the three most interested teams. Seattle, interestingly enough, wanted the first right of refusal on any offer, and so Sherman called Seahawks GM John Schneider. Sherman said Schneider told him, "Incentives [are] a little rich for me." Sherman called Oakland GM Reggie McKenzie, who said he wasn't going to have the cap money to compete for him. And Sherman called Detroit coach Matt Patricia and GM Bob Quinn; incentive package too rich for Detroit's blood.
So if Sherman wanted a deal today, and if he wanted a sure thing, he'd have to go with the 49ers. With the other contenders falling by the wayside, and with one final concession by the Niners, Sherman's decision was made for him. He shook hands with Lynch, hugged him, and the deal was done.
well that's interesting
Yes. It pretty much puts an end to the idea he could have received more money elsewhere. Lynch and Shanahan got the guy they wanted on a very team friendly deal and use Sherman as an enticement for further FAs to come here.
What's not to like about that?

His overall IQ is not bad either. He graduated Salutatorian in his high school class with a 4.2 GPA. He has a Communication degree from Stanford and was working on a Masters when he was drafted. No athletic pass here. The guy is a smart dude as demonstrated by the fact he read a dozen CB contracts to prepare for signing. He gets it.

His beef was always with Harbaugh and Crabtree. Don't care for either of those guys. Go Sherman!

Is there a 49ers/Sherman press conference happening today? I saw it at a twitter post yesterday and now can't find it.
