I think Joe Thomas has a valid point: It takes a player at least one season to regain their "old shape", if so at all.

Look how long Crabtree was not 100% - so I think that the 49ers have to get another quality corner.

I think Joe Thomas should worry about his own money and let Sherman; who sounds content on a deal he negotiated, just be.

I'm crossing my fingers that he'll be healthy by training camp dont @ me

If Sherman stays healthy he'll probably win comeback player of the year!

What's his valid point?

Sherman should be praised for having the balls to bet on himself. He not only bet on himself, but he saved himself from paying an agent 3%.
Okay, I forgot to mention, that this is a low risk deal for the Niners.....

But, the point I see, is that Sherman probably will not be the player he once was - at least not at the beginning.

Joe Thomas mentioned this in another tweet.

You may like or dislike the guy (Thomas) but you have to consider the experiences with injuries like that - that's all I am saying....

Please excuse my english, I am not an native speaker....

He doesn't really have to worry about his money, he'll be the highest paid OL in 2018
I'll give Sherman the edge for now, but before the season is over spoon will be our best corner
Who was the redskins lineman that almost cracked Sherman in the mouth for mouthing off?

Sherman does get under people's skin no doubt about it.

I agree with this. I don't like Sherman, but I respect the hell out of how he bet on himself with this deal. It has the potential to be very lucrative if he returns to form, and it doesn't hamstring the team if he doesn't.

Regardless of the merits, it's none of Thomas's business.

Sherman is a polarizing character, love him or hate him kind of personality. And it appears that NFL players are no different. Not to mention, I think there is a fair amount of 49er envy brewing. They have been pre-season darlings since the end of the season, the JG hype and all in particular. What a remarkable turn around.

It will also be a little different because Sherman should have all of training camp and preseason to prep and try to get in the best position possible. Crabs came back at the end of the season. I think that kind of preperation may play a factor.

Honestly, if he plays average or above average and brings leadership and fire to the defense, that is money well spent.
