"I think it was kind of philosophical on his part," Sherman said of Carroll, a former USC coach, on a podcast hosted by former Cleveland Browns left tackle Joe Thomas and retired receiver Andrew Hawkins. "A lot of us have been there six, seven, eight years, and his philosophy is more built for college. Four years, guys rotate in, rotate out, and so we had kind of heard all his stories, we had kind of heard every story, every funny anecdote that he had. And honestly because he just recycles them. And they're cool stories, they're great for team chemistry and building, etcetera, etcetera. But we had literally heard them all. We could recite them before he even started to say them."

Wait, so he was talking to Thomas on this podcast right after he just threw shade at RS for negotiating his own contract. Umm...Kay.

"Sherman, not surprisingly, didn't agree with Thomas' assessment, responding with a tweet of his own that said, "It's actually a case of believing in who I am as a player while also coming of a major injury. But I appreciate ya input". From there, former Browns receiver Andrew Hawkins jumped in to take sides with Sherman, and to invite Sherman to appear on his and Thomas' podcast, The Thomahawk Show.

Sherman accepted the invitation and appeared on their show on March 15. He defended his contract, as he's been doing off and on since signing the deal, by saying the deal protects the 49ers in case he can't perform after coming off two Achilles surgeries while also giving him the ability to earn substantial bonuses if he gets selected to the 2018 Pro Bowl or All-Pro teams."

this might an underrated part of his signing. I hope he has more to say about Pete the Cheat.

This happens with most coaches. Happens much faster with rah-rah guys. That's why Harbaugh flames out fast.

I just hope Kyle keeps innovative and keeps explaining the "why" to players rather than demand that they just do.

Every employee wants to develop themselves. Nobody wants to stay where they are and work in tunnel vision.

Tartt and Colbert are fiery guys... can't wait to see that same 'dog' with Sherman out there too and those two feeding off it. You know Ahkello is going to elevate his passion too.

Never understood why fans do that...especially when the team cuts or doesn't bother to re-sign the player.

Red Sox fans are notorious for this. One of their beloved players leave and they're over the hill and suck. It's dumb.

Would they really sink that low? Most Seattle fans still love Sherm.
Great signing man haven't been here in a while guys ! What ever happened to that goldenstate49er guy? Use to be a big poster here back in the days we drafted 2 o linemen in the first round like I predicted? I switched usernames since I lost my old one

Seattle fans are fickle as s**t. The ones that havent moved on within a year will be the old school hard core guys from the Largent years.

This season however, yes, the bandwagon fans would throw f**king popcorn on him even if he was being carrier out on a stretcher.
I was thinking if this guy actually plays at a shut down corner level the effects would be tremendous but not mainly for him but for

Akelo witherspoon
This guy seems like a star in the making and next year should be another big step for him especially having Sherman as a mentor but now think of all the damage he can do by causing turnovers because teems are going to want to test him since the other wr will be locked up ! .....I think this is the main reasons I'm excited to watch our defense next year

What do you guys think is akelo due for a breakout year in only his second season ?
