possible but i think that option is not as attractive or realistic as it was ten years ago in my opinion. elvis is still there which of course begs the question why the hell did we cut him in the first place . i guess that means they will get a pass rusher in the first round and hope it works out

Cc not being a downer. We don't have a pass ruch our linebackers suck minus Foster. And we need help in the secondary. All true points as of right now. I think we could use another vet CB b/c I'm not sure how healthy Sherman will be.

Good thing we still have an entire draft (and FA still isn't over).

Who knows maybe a team is willing to trade with us between now and September.

True. Plus everything can't be fixed in one off season. Hopefully our draft picks fill some voids. And hopefully somebody currently on the roster stepa it up.

I would rather have a good football player who can anchor that secondary. as of now. he is questionable due to his injuries. our team is not the team they were five years ago and no offense to our wide outs or running backs. teams are not scared of our offense in my opinion. no offense to jimmy. our linebackers are still terrible. no pass rusher. we need help in the secondary. the o line is still a mess. yep. i know the draft. hope so. the team took baby steps in the free agency period but i think some are over valuing our team and undervaluing the rams and their moves

I agree with most of this, but I disagree with the part about our offfense. We dismantled Jax. Over the last 5 games, Jimmy G, with an atrocious OL, average (at best) skill players, and little time in the scheme, moved the ball, made plays, converted third downs, and put a bunch of points on the board.

The interior OL is still questionable, and yes, it looks like we're putting a sizable wager on Sherman's achilles. Our LBs aren't terrible, they're average to below average (assuming Foster is suspended). I do agree that We have a huge hole at pass rushing.

Most of what cc said is right imo. I just don't agree with all of it.

Totally agree.

Can't depend on it BUT there always seems to be 1-2 quality guys available when the cuts happen.

small stuff.. one wide out who is getting up there with a serious neck injury. another who is coming off a bad head injury leaving just a decent third target in trent..no pass rusher, despite sherman who is coming off injuries a less than stellar secondary. yes. the worst collection of linebackers around. and lack of quality guards. you can call them small stuff and yes maybe they will all be fixed. but today they are not small stuff and anyone who thinks that is whistling past the end zone

Yeah, were 1 year in to a total stripdown rebuild. Were not going to have a roster full of Pro Bowlers already. I repeat, we have a young franchise QB. Thats ALL that matters big picture. Garoppolo made an offense that was likely going 1-15 into a team that couldn't lose. A 30 pt per game, well oiled machine.

The OL got way better because he gets rid of the ball before anyone can beat them. The WR's and TE's went from afterthoughts to studs. He made Goodwin, Trent Taylor, and Celek look like bonfide pass catchers. He turned Juszczyk's season around from bust to Pro Bowler. He kept the D rested, so they actually played well when they were in the game.

Stop worrying about the pass rusher we dont have. We'll find one. Stop worrying about the LB's, we'll bolster that unit. Stop worrying about the offense, Garoppolo is the rising tide that lifts all boats.

Wait until Shanahan and Lynch have put a few years of effort and culture into this team before you get all critical and pessimistic about the team.

Ultimately, some people will just NEVER concede any positivity. They search for the negative. I guarantee there were fans who did nothing but complain from 1981-1994. I feel sorry for those people, who couldn't see the forest through the trees and enjoy a great thing.
Sherman has a press conference on tuesday right? Looking forward to that. I wonder what kind of retard question Cohn is gonna ask?

I don't think we're supposed to use that word in here. (Cohn)

His last name is fitting, considering his hat.

Given that Cohn ripped the Sherman signing, this should be good.

still feels weird
if sherman does only half of what justin smith or ken norton did as their second team, i'd awesome!

I think we finally have a leader on defense we have not had since willis was there. all we can do is hope and trust and pray he has retained his pre injury ability. he is not that old and i could care less how much he takes part in ota stuff.
I won't be leading any Sherman cheers but I will be happy when good plays are made that help the team.

There's no chance of us getting the Seahawks Sherman. If we get 80% of Sherman that will be good enough.

Yup. He's just a place holder. Will likely draft a CB in the first 3 rounds and hope that guy can push for a starting role in 2019.
