Non of this jives with what i thought i knew about Sherm....

I wonder how much of this stuff sticks even... for all we know he actually owned the house and this is a minor domestic dispute with some drunken pushing.

or it could be straight up broke into the house and beat the hell out of someone, that just seems out of character as i know of him.

Not sure how much sympathy he deserves, but i hate for the future he might loose from this.

Yes. No excuse in my mind for drunken driving.

But obviously there is a family squabble going on here and it's terrible for this to all be put out there like this. Sherm has always seemed incredibly smart, and passionate.

He didn't hurt anyone.. Anybody that has been in passionate disputes with family and their partner - knows how quickly they get out of hand. Sounds like a personal dispute that has taken off over the past X amount of months leading to Sherm wanting to break his door down.

Who knows, maybe someone cheated, maybe her family is pushing for divorce, maybe issues with the kids/custody, maybe money is involved, who knows. Maybe it is alcohol or it is just personal to him - but we have zero clue.

Regardless, it's obviously a domestic issue (without any real domestic violence involved) - it only stokes the fire further and causes more issues for him and his family to have this all out in the open ruining his career.
Kinda sucks that all his dirty laundry is being aired out. But it's the consequence of being a big public figure. Idk what happened so I can't judge nor feel bad for him. It's time to wait.
It sounds like Sherman is really frustrated that he hasn't been signed by anyone and the realization that his career might be over is setting in.

He's so out of order mentally, they denied him access to a gun much earlier than this episode. I can assure you there's alot more going on than disappointment of not being signed. At best, that's merely a trigger of clearly deeper issues going on.
Mental health is no joke and even more salient when under the influence. I'm just glad he didn't hurt himself and/or others. The only good thing about this public airing is that he'll most likely be more inclined to get help and knowing him, he'll probably become a mental health advocate which would be huge!

That's messed up of the family to release that home security footage. Glad they didn't open the door for him. He was wired and looked like he was ready to physically harm someone.
Hope he reflects on this and rides off into the sunset. Ultimately, no one got hurt and those are the type of situations that people remember most. When this all passes he can still be one of those network analysts. I think he'd be a good one that would actually give good takes.
The fact that the footage was released looks like an angle for the wife to get full custody of the kids and as much money as possible.

I have a question, Sherman was drunk, he smashed his car and then left the scene of the accident. He is being charged with a misdemeanor DUI but is it a felony for leaving the scene of the accident, especially if driving under the influence of alcohol?

This law is almost never enforced.

Also, not sure if you have noticed but it is very hard to keep people in jail these days. As a society we have finally figured out that jail is not the answer to our problems.

For example; Drug possession of any kind (Heroin/meth/crack/powder cocaine) is a misdemeanor in California. The state got smacked by the feds for over crowding its jails and prisons.

So now the state has to actually address the issues instead of using jail as its crutch/solution to societal issues and as you can see the state is failing because there was no thought pass "lock 'em up!". Rehabilitation, what's that? So instead of waisting peoples time and money with jail...

Washington and many other states are also getting smarter by understanding that jail is not a solution but a copout. A copout by state agencies that have multi million/billion dollar budgets to provide public safety.
