Lol going to keep saying it guys. Drawing parallels between low interest in him as an aged FA and this episode is extremely nonsensical.

There was a helluva lot of interest in Aldon Smith,...and he STILL had problems in his career with alcoholism and being out of order while he was much younger.

These guys crash into others at high speeds for like 80+% of their lives. They've found rates of brain disorders as high as 99% of them .

And again,...why did they deny him access to gun purchase/ownership well before this if it's only now because he hasn't signed with a team?

You're putting the cart before the horse in this "unsigned depression" talk. This info about him is simply info you all have not had access to, that I'm sure NFL teams knew about. We don't speak to Sherm every day but those that know him close enough I'm sure knew that the screws were starting to unravel. And no, it's not because of free agency,..lol.

There's no other way this could have gotten out but through the in-laws. Like I said in my post above, when this thing first aired I suspected some things about the in-laws, and this video leakage just confirms it. His wife's family put this out there.

Now, I don't know if his wife was in on this. But if she wasn't then shame on her for not being able to keep her family under control, or keep her distance from them if she couldn't. If she was in on this Sherman needs officially retire from football, lawyer up with a team of lawyers, fight for 50-50 custody of his children, and go about the business of putting as much of his assets and money into financial entities out of the reach of child support and alimony as legally possible.

Yea it doesn't sit right with me. Sounds like her family may have been too involved in their relationship.

Exactly!! And it seems that the wife did a piss-poor job of controlling that. But the her calling the police was uncalled for. Famous attorney Dennis Spurling did a great legal analysis on this (start the video at 21:05):

This could have - and should have - been handled within the family. I feel this was a ploy with his wife's family. He needs to divorce her NOW!!

interesting

but she did say that wasnt who he is and that she was trying to get him released from jail. doesnt sound like someone who is in on it.

and she also corrected the record that she is his wife, not ex wife.

The darkest moment of my life was around 2009 - 10. I left California for Texas. My wife got an outstanding opportunity. Unfortunately, that when things went south for the US economy and it took my almost two years to find a job...

It still sticks with me, the depression and despair is very real. After that moment, my attitude towards those down on their luck did a 180. But it took a life altering experience for that to happen. And, I don't know if I could ever go through that again...

I'm glad you got through it. A lot of us do not learn until we actually go through it.

Crazy thing, we were not hurting financially. The loss of "usefulness" hit hard. I started realizing what a lot of women go through when they give up their profession for kids, and then the kids leave home, and all the sudden, you're asking yourself what's my role.

Then there are those that lose their job, can't find one, and end up on the street. If you lose everything, is turning to drugs really that far away from a rational decision?

I'll tell ya, it's a dark place.... And I just lucked out. I tried, but honestly, I won the coin toss, and I know it.

Must be all that training on abuse his wife and her family got in school.

Yeesh. Hope this dude gets some help and his family gets some counseling. Pretty f**ked up for in laws to leak this footage, if they did. Don't need to air s**t out on TMZ for some dollars.

That footage looks bad. He's obviously drunk. What are they fighting about?

His 49ers career is over. They only like choir boys.

That footage has confirmed some of my suspicions I've been having about the in-laws since this whole thing aired. The only reason this video was "leaked" is make Richard Sherman look bad. No wander it took him years to marry her, and from the way things have worked out I'm sure he's regretting it.

If I were him I'd lawyer up with the best divorce lawyer and financial advisers my money can buy, go about the business of securing as much of my assets and money as possible, and divorce her a$$ forthwith. The way I see it this leak could be a ploy to clean him out in divorce, so he needs to file BEFORE his wife does.

Except you have no idea what the hell your talking about. All of us are just speculating, and it's not helpful to speculate on top of speculation because it suits your preconceived interpretation of the events.

Can we talk about privilege? He's got 5 counts on him including the DUI and was released without bail. This is the epitome of privilege. Where are those people who want things to be "fair?"

Think about it, if this was you personally, would you be let go without bail?

I know you're upset but he was getting out either way.

I'm not to upset with Sherm honestly. I would probably do everything i could to get out of jail as well. What bothers me is how the "woke" are suddenly missing when a person of color gets privilege. It's hypocrisy.

Honestly the most serious charge is probably driving under the influence, but even people who get that charge are released when they sober up.

So running into a work zone with people working wasn't a thing? That was one of the charges. All I'm saying is, let's all collectively admit privilege.

Most likely

Maybe so, but the police did not have to be called. With the relationship between law enforcement and Black men have calling the police on Richard Sherman could have cost him his life. She sided against him with her family. It says a lot to me that he's been with this woman for 10 years, but they married only 3 years ago. I cannot speak for no other community, but in the Black community (for the most part) the police isn't called unless there is a REAL life threatening issue, and this wasn't it.

The father-in-law have been knowing this man for 10 years. The fact that he pulled a gun tells me that there's a large back story to this. From what I've learned, the suburb where they live is quite expensive to live, so I'm sure Richard Sherman paid for that. For the police to be called on him tell me a lot about that family, and his wife.

He should have never married her.
