I have no problem with it. The point of bail is to ensure someone is going to show up to court and not skip town. Sherman is deemed by the city to be highly unlikely to do so (and correctly, in my view).

More importantly, It's 5 counts that are all misdemeanors which often don't need bail. Hell, in NYC they eliminated bail for all misdemeanors. So likely in reality, yes, many law-abiding, high functioning citizens would get the same treatment. Of course, I'm sure most people on this forum fail the "high functioning" part.

People love to get worked up about how unfair life is. Focus on how good you have it and I guarantee you'll be happier.

I know you're upset but he was getting out either way.

I'm not to upset with Sherm honestly. I would probably do everything i could to get out of jail as well. What bothers me is how the "woke" are suddenly missing when a person of color gets privilege. It's hypocrisy.

Lmao, spending two days incarcerated without the ability of being bailed out is privilege? People are released on personal bond all the time. This post is a reach, where did the woke crowd touch you?

Honestly the most serious charge is probably driving under the influence, but even people who get that charge are released when they sober up.

He has no prior record of anything - so that's why I think he'll get off with just a fine and some counseling.

Yeesh. Hope this dude gets some help and his family gets some counseling. Pretty f**ked up for in laws to leak this footage, if they did. Don't need to air s**t out on TMZ for some dollars.

That footage looks bad. He's obviously drunk. What are they fighting about?

His 49ers career is over. They only like choir boys.

That footage has confirmed some of my suspicions I've been having about the in-laws since this whole thing aired. The only reason this video was "leaked" is make Richard Sherman look bad. No wander it took him years to marry her, and from the way things have worked out I'm sure he's regretting it.

If I were him I'd lawyer up with the best divorce lawyer and financial advisers my money can buy, go about the business of securing as much of my assets and money as possible, and divorce her a$$ forthwith. The way I see it this leak could be a ploy to clean him out in divorce, so he needs to file BEFORE his wife does.

Except you have no idea what the hell your talking about. All of us are just speculating, and it's not helpful to speculate on top of speculation because it suits your preconceived interpretation of the events.

Cool. So what am I speculating about?

Damn Sherman must've been going thru it hard knowing there wasn't a lot interest in him and with TC around the corner got him even more down. Good chance he won't see the field for a while unless major injuries to corners start happening

The darkest moment of my life was around 2009 - 10. I left California for Texas. My wife got an outstanding opportunity. Unfortunately, that when things went south for the US economy and it took my almost two years to find a job...

It still sticks with me, the depression and despair is very real. After that moment, my attitude towards those down on their luck did a 180. But it took a life altering experience for that to happen. And, I don't know if I could ever go through that again...

Glad you made it thru my guy

It sounds like Sherman is really frustrated that he hasn't been signed by anyone and the realization that his career might be over is setting in.

Really? Specifically what about this whole thing that makes you conclude that?

Getting drunk and acting the way he did indicates a very unhappy and unstable person. I've heard that he still wants to play but teams aren't rushing to sign him. Players react differently when they see the writing on the wall and realize that their career might be over. Some can accept it but others have a hard time adjusting. I don't know for sure what his state of mind is but this scenario is certainly a possibility.
what about the DUI? was that dropped?.....it should'nt cuz that endangered the whole community.

Exactly!! And it seems that the wife did a piss-poor job of controlling that. But the her calling the police was uncalled for. Famous attorney Dennis Spurling did a great legal analysis on this (start the video at 21:05):

This could have - and should have - been handled within the family. I feel this was a ploy with his wife's family. He needs to divorce her NOW!!

I can hardly watch that video. The owner is begging for cash in every other sentence. Instant turn off.

Maybe so, but the police did not have to be called. With the relationship between law enforcement and Black men have calling the police on Richard Sherman could have cost him his life. She sided against him with her family. It says a lot to me that he's been with this woman for 10 years, but they married only 3 years ago. I cannot speak for no other community, but in the Black community (for the most part) the police isn't called unless there is a REAL life threatening issue, and this wasn't it.

The father-in-law have been knowing this man for 10 years. The fact that he pulled a gun tells me that there's a large back story to this. From what I've learned, the suburb where they live is quite expensive to live, so I'm sure Richard Sherman paid for that. For the police to be called on him tell me a lot about that family, and his wife.

He should have never married her.

Well you have it all figured out don't you

I would guess that his defense lawyers will try a package deal where they drop some of the offenses in order to plead guilty and get a lighter sentence.

Lmao, Chicago thinks that education about abuse leads to more women accusing men of rape. It's not surprising he is blaming wife and her family and claiming he should divorce her (even though it seems like Sherman is the one facing the possible divorce).

Unless they have footage of him driving the car and bailing on it that DUI ticket will not stick. Can't prove he was in the vehicle.

Apart from the hypocrisy of privilege - I really do hope that Sherm gets help, stays married, and has a good career in broadcasting. He seems like a good guy to hang. He may well be coming to grips with the end of his career.

Ahh yes, the self driving car defense lol. You are probably right. Depends on how much of a dick the local prosecutor is.

Which is the reason I said start the video at 21:05. "Reading is fundamental"
