No one is taking their initial licks when it comes to the legal system, especially a DUI in Washington. They don't mess around when it comes to that. Has nothing to do about being a man.

Step away from the crack pipe.

Sherm deserves everything he gets and probably more. Strength is not something only shown on the football field.

Agree with a previous post......remorseful but pleads not guilty?????

Get this f'n thread out of the 49er discussion. This idiot is not a Niner.

Stfu you ass. You don't speak for everyone, especially when this guy is owning you.

It sounds like Sherman is really frustrated that he hasn't been signed by anyone and the realization that his career might be over is setting in.

Really? Specifically what about this whole thing that makes you conclude that?

Getting drunk and acting the way he did indicates a very unhappy and unstable person. I've heard that he still wants to play but teams aren't rushing to sign him. Players react differently when they see the writing on the wall and realize that their career might be over. Some can accept it but others have a hard time adjusting. I don't know for sure what his state of mind is but this scenario is certainly a possibility.

All of that sounds good. But you didn't say what it was I speculated about.

Yes I did. You highlighted the part about being frustrated about not being signed. I'm guessing he is since he wants to play. Frustration and seeing the end can come crashing down on some people. Some might turn to alcohol and other sto drugs. This is all speculation since none of us knows what set him off.

No, you didn't. I want to know specifically wat I speculated about. You advanced you thinking on this, thinking that I, taken alone, don't necessarily disagree with. The only way I can address the speculation is for you to show specifically where I speculated.

Now, in terms of "Frustration and seeing the end . . .", again, taken alone I don't disagree with that. However, I see no evidence that that is the case in this situation. You're drawing inference about a situation involving a man who's shown the world nothing that would indicate he's negatively reacting to the coming end of his playing career. Even after this Richard has a great opportunity in TV commentating. After all, he is great in front of the camera. Correct me if I'm wrong but the man does have a communication degree from Stanford no less. And I find it hard to believe that he doesn't have offers on the table from TV networks that will pay handsomely for his football analysis, even after this (see Michael Irvin, et al).

So this narrative that Richard Sherman just lost it because he's seeing the end of his playing career is just silly to me. So you'll need to be more convincing and come with some evidence, and not regurgitated platitudes.

I said from the start that this is just speculation. I don't know what's going on in his head any more than you do. It's just one possible explanation . He plead not guilty which is pretty much standard in cases like this. He'll probably end up with a fine and community service like most athletes do. I'm happy he isn't a Niner anymore because that would be a real thorn in our side just as the team is heading into camp.

You never plead guilty even if you are. That's stupidest thing that you can do if being charged.

I agree......sounds like a bunch of seacock fans in here.
An nfl player can get a ticket for speeding, and fans will blame it on CTE
I think some of the posters on this board have CTE
Not sticking up for Sherman, but the fact that his baby mama family sold out the video hella quick to tmz says a lot.
