I'm curious if you lose a guy in consecutive years, do you get two for each guy, giving you two 3rd rounders in the middle year?

That's the question...So a we saying a team is better off having one guy leave one yr (get a 3rd for him the next two drafts), then having another guy leave the following yr (get a 3rd for him the next two drafts). IMO That doesn't make sense...you'd think you'd get more if they both left at the same time.

I feel like it would go like this (if they both left this yr).

3rd rd comp picks starting at 100.

2021
100-saleh pick
101-Mayhew pick

2022
100-Saleh pick
101-Mayhew pick

2023
100-pick for both Saleh/Mayhew leaving the same yr.

Mayhew already was fired as Lions GM. They aren't hiring him again lol...

I disagree. There is so much pressure on teams this year to hire minorities that people who aren't the best selection are going to get hired. Its just a fact. Politics will play a big roll this year and outside groups will have input.
Since Mayhew was already a GM doesn't that mean we won't get draft compensation?

Nope. He just has to be hired as a gm somewhere.

Thanks lam. You would think that rule needs to be changed because what if he gets fired every year or two would we continue to get the draft compensation or the team that had him previously? It doesn't make any sense because once he's a general manager he's already attained that status.

He was Detriot's GM but the Niners are getting the draft compensation b/c he's currently works for the Niners. If the guy is fired and then hired no team gets any compensation b/c he's not part of any team.
I would think Mayhew might be on Saleh's GM list if they let him pick his own GM.
Don't like losing Mathew, but I'm happy if he gets another chance. Holding Detroit failures on him has been wrong imo. I mean nobody does anything with that organization, it's really one of the arm pits for coaches and GMs in all of the NFL. Sure hope Saleh doesn't go there because I really like him, and don't want to see his coaching career go up in flames.
Let's.keep racking up these 3rd round comp picks for not being so white.

I can't see why not. They'd be like any other comp picks.

He might be gone too, although Rivera runs the show there.
Folks here in DC would love the hire. His best years in the league was for the Skins. My pops loved him as a players. Hope its not just an a interview to fulfill the Rooney rule. But good luck to him
