Oh s**t. We signed Xerxes as our DC.

No, I believe it does not. Allen would just exacerbate our problem of finding spots for Armstead and Buckner.

Thomas, however, comes into play now.

That was my first thought

Agree...but is it a fit or will he have a much different set of decisions with the niners roster?

In my opinion, its business as usual from a personnel standpoint. Just get good players. I mentioned a few pages back, the players you get for this scheme typically fit a 3-4 as well. Just need to browse through the Seahawks, Falcons, and Jaguars rosters. You will see players with experience and production in both 3-4 and 4-3 alignments.

Yes, that was more or less my point. Any scheme can be morphed to accomodate good or great players. In Armstead and Buckner you have two DL who could be among the best in the NFL so you figure out what they do best and use them that way. With so many other quality DL I don't see a problem using many variations on a theme.

Yup. I think there's enough flexibility in this scheme to find an ideal role for everyone on the current roster, and we still have draft and free agency to plug some holes. We need pass rushers and playmakers in general to make this work.

I have no idea how good Saleh will be calling the defense, but I have no qualms about the scheme. It is proven to work, but like any scheme you need the players.

I understand how the Seattle front 7 and works and they are really good at shutting out most things, I am not sure that the simple coverage scheme can work with out the right talent behind it. Robinson will be good in this scheme though

I'm happy he's a LB guy as the team desperately needs to rebuild and beef up that unit.

The Persian empire was soft just like the Niners D.

As the LE?... I think we go with more of a freaky prospect with more speed. AA has right side IMO.

Could be wrong but wasn't that because of Manusky?

Manusky ran a 3-4... I don't remember the last time we ran a 4-3... 2005

The last time we ran a 3-4, it was historically bad.
