At worst hes a 1 year holdover until we can get a more experienced guy. Were not winning the SB next year anyways.

How many different DC's would that be, now?

Eventually we need to have some consistency and stability and let the players adapt to a defensive scheme.

QBs may not have an easy time throwing over their heads / middle of field

They should use those long arms to block FGs.

Heck, I go on the Giants message board and we all complain every time we get swept in the regular season. We've won three WS this decade

Adam Caplan‏@caplannfl

For those asking: 49ers expected to run 4-3. Same as Gus Bradley's defense. Some coaches say has elements of a 3-4 on tape.

now we can all fap in peace
I hope we still go after Melvin Ingram. He could be a perfect "elephant" 4-3 DE

I think people are overhyping this 3-4/4-3 thing. Some teams don't even have a "base defense" anymore. They just have personnel that can adapt to different fronts depending upon the package.

exactly right

Agreed. Most NFL teams are only in their "base" D for 1/3 of the time. Other 2/3 spent in nickel or dime with all the teams having 3 WR Sets. Those are the "money" downs.

This is sunk cost fallacy.

A rebuild assumes 0 talent on the roster, and starting from square one.

This. I'm assuming lynch sees it that way too.
