For those asking: 49ers expected to run 4-3. Same as Gus Bradley's defense. Some coaches say has elements of a 3-4 on tape.

we'll be in nickel at least 60% of the time
I'm sure he will run a 3-4 Hybrid with some 4-3 at times, but I'm thinking we stay a base 3-4.

I had the worst defense in Madden too thanks to O'Neil
Not a fan but at least ILB ain't a huge need now

Nope... now we just need two 4-3 OLBs. I really don't understand how people think this team is fit for a 4-3 after drafting Armstead and Buckner in back to back years.

Does Bowman even have the speed to play in a 4-3?

What do mean? Running a 4-3 now we need way more of the 3-4 ILB body types like Bowman (4-3 LBs). I mean this is probably the best time the switch defenses but the 4-3 doesn't really fit us at all right now. Not like we stopped anybody last year but I wish we would stay with the 3-4.

Seems like a better fit in a Chancellor type role to me no? Current lineup with no additions:

LDT- Armstead(interchangeable with Buckner)
NT- Dial
RDT- Buckner
LEO- Lynch
SAM- Brooks
MIKE- Bowman
WILL- Armstrong
RCB- Robinson
LCB- Brock(more likely to be cut than start)
FS- Ward/Reid
ROBBER- Tartt

No, but Melvin Ingram can.
Based on both Lynch & Shanahan wanting Fangio as their DC, I think Saleh's nothing more than a temporary fill. Had the Bears not blocked a Fangio interview, VF would be our DC now. So, I doubt they'll change the defense. It only makes good sense. Shanahan got started hiring coaches very late, so a number of the guys he potentially wanted simply weren't available. Next year's staff could look considerably different than this year's.

From what we have heard we are switching schemes. Bringing Fangio in next year after doing so seems like a bad idea. Only thing is the players are familiar with Fangio's scheme so it could be OK, but we have switched schemes on a yearly basis since Fangio left.
We are nowhere near being able to run a 4-3 with our current roster. I don't like the idea it's going to set our rebuild out at least couple more years. .
