4-3 Under is just an alignment. It does not specify gap assignments. The diagram above is how SEA will often assign their gap responsibilities to free up their Will and Mike. There could be plays where they do this, where everyone is one gapping. The diagram below is just what could be happening, not what is happening.
if we do go 4-3 , I can see Ronald Blair getting more snaps at Right Defensive End , he has the size and motor to develop into an impact player, he held his own as a 3-4 Defensive end ,even at 6-4 and 270 LBs , he still managed to put pressure on the QB, I'm psyched to see how much his game has improved next season
I don't think this is better than Jim O'Neal.(imo)

We play in the NFC west. We dont have those spread passing attacks in our division. We are a run first black and blue division. You better get your base defense in order or we wont be winning anytime soon. You have to try to win your division first and foremost.

Carson Palmer is done. Goff has a long way to go and Wilson has never been a pass first QB. You have to run the ball and stop the run to win this division!

Good point. David Johnson is a headache to go against and I think Gurley just had a bad year due to oline issues, a pornstar as a HC and no one at qb to help spread the defense. Seattle though doesn't really have anyone at rb as of right now. But you're right this division is the defensive heavy, run first division.
looks like we are running the 4-3.

So many questions...

Who will play DE....Armstead or Buckner?

Is armstead now a trading chip?

Do you think we restructure Brooks contract and have him play one of the LB roles?

Does Eli Harold have the ability to play 4-3 LB like Bruce Irvin?

I think Buckner will play DE, he has better pass rushing ability.

I wouldn't be surprised to see AA traded, but I think he is a niner next year.

I'm not sure about his contract situation but I think he should stay, can't have all young guys in the front 7, we need experience.

I think he is athletic enough to do what Irvin does, this could actually revive his career if he works hard enough.
Both Buckner and Armstead should be playing DTs.. but since Armstead is too soft, I think we should send him along with Staley to the Pats for Grappolo...

our basic 4-3 line up should be... WELL, that's if the Jets are willing to give us Sheldon Richardson along their 1st (6th overall) since they wanna move UP to our spot...

We give Tank Carradine his last chance as a PURE (DE), which he should really be.. then the LBs will be made of the veteran Bowman, a rookie in Foster and the up and coming Hightower of New England via Free Agency..

RICHARDSON(JETS) - BUCKNER - DORSEY - TANK

BOWMAN - FOSTER (R) - HIGHTOWER (PATS)
richardson plays the same position as buckner and armstead, so that idea is foolish.

defo will probably play a majority of his snaps at 3t

AA will likely play strongside DE in base. dial could also see time here.

I think they'll transition eli to sam

I dont think we have our 1t yet unless dorsey is resigned. i think this will be addressed in FA/draft.

although he's not the prototype, lynch will probably play the weakside/leo role. also will be addressed in FA/draft.

And you know Seattle is going to invest in a RB this FA period or through the draft or both.

Who cares who the DC is so long as he is capable of using all the D- linemen and Linebackers properly in a 4-3/ 3- 4 hybrid scheme. There are plenty of snaps to mix and match and give guys breathers if they are giving their 100% on every single play.

It's not foolish at all.. the minute you make your DL limited w/the way they play a position, is the minute you handcuff yourself..

It was mentioned that we will be playing some hybrid type of 3-4 to 4-3.. and the best way to do that is to have the DL slide from 3 down line to 4 down line.. and the way to do it is to have a HALEY (Elephant) type of DE/OLB that can play up or down..

if our base is 3-4 where Dorsey plays the NOSE and Sheldon and Buckner plays the DE, all we have to do is slide to the right where Sheldon becomes a 4-3 END, while both Dorsey and Buckner moves to the inside to play the DT position and have Tank or Lynch (battle it out) for that ELEPHANT down/up DE.

Not sure how it can be worse than the worst defense in franchise history man.

Agreed with his...we have no 1tech and id love to bring in someone like B Williams in that role. I do think we need some speed at the LEO

Thoughts on tarrt moving to the will?
