He's in the building but still no contract. I think Barrows is right, something ain't right.

Yeah just read that hmmmmm

Why would he agree to be a placeholder? Seems odd.

Yeah plus the whole 4-3 to a 3-4 thing lol. I think it's a bunch of nothing as far as Vic coming here.

Why not? Its a shot at gaining experience as a DC, a DC paycheck and potentially securing a higher paying job in the future. Assuming that there is any truth to this business but if its accurate and Saleh agreed to it, hey, no harm, no foul.

I mean if it's the case, then I can't do anything about it lol. I guess it's a win win. He could be amazing and keep him or we get Fangio back, which a lot of people here seem to love. They should keep the 3-4 then. Switching back and forth is not good for the development of our young dline.

This I see no point in moving back in forth in schemes

Fangio's defense was always more of a hybrid anyways with a lot of 4-3 Under looks.

Agree, doesn't make sense to me. Lynch says he wants us to be an attacking style defense, not a read and react one. In that sense, Saleh's scheme fits and I would assume he sticks around if he does a good job.

The Fangio thing seems more like a rumor. The Gus Bradley reports had more legs to it, which again makes sense because of the scheme he runs and how Lynch envisions the defense playing.
I honestly think the Fangio ship sailed a long time ago. Saleh is the teams DC. Worked with Kyle previously and is it a coincidence that the team wanted Bradley?? Saleh worked user Bradley. I feel Kyle just likes that type of defense.
fangio will atleast be an option next year but hopefully this guy is good and worth keeping around
NOW

What if Saleh succeeds in his first year as a DC? Would it be wise to let him go in favor of Fangio?

Yeah, very interesting. Are they still trying to get someone else? Also, Jim O'Neill has not been formally let go yet. He might end up staying on as a defensive passing game coordinator or some role.

No. And does that mean we would switch back to the 3-4? I hope Saleh shows he can do the job. He's a lot younger than Fangio and I want some stability. We're at 4 DC's in 4 years right now
Mike Shanahan went through a lot of defensive coordinators. Hopefully Kyle isn't following in that.
