He has battled injuries a lot while here. If he hasn't lost a step already, he may soon. Can't judge him as harsh against Cooper but definitely wonder if we bring him back considering the circumstances.

Worst player on the field tonight IMO. Seemed like he was getting cooked all game long.

I think he's a reliable slot corner but Cooper Kupp is the best slot receiver in the game. He's been cooking corners all season.

It's not even that simple. They put William's in a lot of stressful situations... even when William's was 1v1 there were times he had perfect coverage but Stafford just made the perfect throw. Nothing you can do about that.

Yes there were. There were also times Kupp flat out beat him. It's not a shot on Williams. Like I said Williams is a solid nickel corner but Kupp is an elite receiver in the NFL. There is nobody on the niners that can cover him. There's not many in the league who can cover him 1 on 1 if any.

The sad part is, K'Waun is probably our ONLY playmaker in the secondary. That's a real problem.

Right The Bengals have 2 terrific safeties and a good slot cb. Let's see what they can do with Kupp. Not gonna kill wiliams for getting beat by the best wr in the league.

Same, I blame the playcall and not having safety help over the top like we had with Davante Adams.

Exactly. The gameplan was fine. Arguably the most explosive offense in the NFC scored 20 points.. I'm not mad at that. Their receivers had to make tough catches all game. They got into too many 3rd and shorts for me, but the defense was fine. You gotta expect some breakdowns going against their receivers, especially with all the bunch action they do.

Plays too hot and cold during the course of a game. Might not be worth the money he's going to command in F/A.

IMO he's a keeper for a couple more years as his pros far outweigh his cons. We need to find a gem of a corner though. They played super soft.
Kwuan is a liability in coverage a lot of the time. He's a great tackler and very aggressive but he just allows too many catches IMO. I'd offer him a 1 year deal again and bring in some competition. Hopefully Lenior will improve.

He's not going to take a 1 year deal. He's 30 and this is probably the last big deal he signs. He'll get 8-10 million a year in a multi year deal from some team out there easy. Not saying he'll deserve it but someone will pay him and I hope it's not this team.

Let's see here...he went a lot against Amari Cooper, Devante Adams and Kooper Cupp in these playoffs

He got a pick against Dallas and was responsible for a pick in the redzone that took points off the board for the Rams

Id say he was fine. These are pro-bowl/all-pro receivers with more-than-competent QBs throwing them the ball. You are not fully stopping them completely with today's rules.

He was on the open market last year and didn't sniff those kind of offers. I doubt that will change.
I'm kind of curious what happens with K'Waun. He was considered one of the better Slot CB's in the league a year or two ago. He just seemed okay this year though. He was on the wrong end of some big plays against top WR's, but... they're top WR's in a league that favors the passing game.

If it's a reasonable price, bring him back. But he's not someone I'd break the bank for.

Agreed. Lenoir was a healthy scratch far too often. Id like to bring in two more rookies corners and follow the Lenoir/Thomas mold. Only to play outside and one to play the slot. Hoping Lenoir is ready to contribute next year. But in the meantime, we are going to need Williams and I'm not expecting him to command a lot. 1-2 year deal.
