Why?

We're going to need him - with Sanders probably moving on in FA.

But you said keep him and let sanders walk....which would indicate you would rather keep him over sanders.
It's a pretty easy decision when deciding between the 2

i feel bad for anyone who thinks goodwin is a replacement for sanders.... if we let sanders go and i will be pissed.. his replacement will be a rookie or maybe some sort of a decent vet wide out in free agency..... goodwin is not a replacement for sanders. lol

Sucks, I thought he was going to have a big year. But in reality he is the same guy he was in BUF. Fragile and cannot be counted on. Had that 1 nice year, but that was an outlier

Agree. He may be younger and faster, but he Is also an inferior football player by a significant margin ( which matters). I've said it before, but I'm shocked the team hasn't gone after this guy for part of his signing bonus. He hasn't really played football ( even before the "injury") in 2 years. At least Anthony Davis had the decency to retire.
I'm praying John can trade Goodwin and our 5 for a mid round 4
I want to keep Goodwin now that his wife and he have finally, successfully had a healthy baby. I think his head will be back in the right place. I want him as the third option behind Sanders and Deebo. But alas, Kyle just got done saying, "He can play in this league." which is like getting a kiss from the godfather.
I really hope Kyle saying "he is too valuable to release" is just coach speak so we can get a better return if we trade him.

bourne took that spot, not to be harsh. but way to many excuses for goodwin here

I don't trust Bourne worth a dam. Bourne took that spot by virtue of no other options while Goodwin was injured. Big deal.

I don't consider three late-term miscarriages and a suicidal wife excuses.
Could go either way.

What would we get for him?

even when healthy,.,. goodwin or pettis could not unseat bourne even when they were healthy.. all bourne did most of the time was make key catches and score touchdowns,.

Not sure how you can trust Goodwin either . They both drop passes and Goodwin is often injured.

I'd be happy with a 4th or 5th rounder for Goodwin.

6th rounder.. but since many over value our own players. some think a 5th. if lucky., we can get 6ths for pettis goodwin and cj

he was not to upset to not talk about the olympics.. that should tell you his commitment level
Not many teams would give up more than a sixth round pick for him and I'm OK with that because most likely we're just going to release him. I don't see the team keeping him over the other receivers we have coming back and that's not counting any additional receivers we may get in the draft.
