I just think were going to run the ball A LOOOOT. Hold Hoyer to less than 20 passes a game and have our hopefully much improved Defense win us games. Kinda the old Harbaugh strategy with a more creative offense. Until we have the proper pieces in place I wouldn't want to see 30ish passing attempts. Just how I'm seeing this next season going. Not to exciting of plays but the creativity will be there. Then we get Cousins or a 1st round QB. And start opening it up next year.
We're going to run the ball, however aside from all the off-season optimism, just look at our depth chart. Who do you really see to challenge Garcon for targets? He has the most experience in Kyle's system and was the go to guy in Washington while Kyle was there. He's being paid right now for at least this season to be the primary pass catcher.
The Bills threw the least amount of passes last season in the league and still threw the ball 474 times. That averages out to 29 passes a game. In order to get around an average of 20 passes a game, your talking 320 passes on the season. Tim Tebow is not the QB of this team. They are going to still throw the ball close to an average of 30 times a game.
Look at Kyle's season in 2014 with the browns. Their personnel on offense was comparable to ours with Hoyer starting 13 games, and and they threw the ball over 500 times. Their top receiver that season was Andrew Hawkins with 63 catches. Garcon is easily a better receiver than he was and has been the primary target for Kyle before. A 100 receptions is a very achievable goal for Garcon this season. His targets will be there. If he throws the ball anything close to 500 times, that leaves about atleast 350 or more targets divided amongst the rest of the offensive skill players which sounds just about right.
