Malcolm is most likely only going to be here 2-3 years, unless he plays very well, and we keep him longer. I'm hoping Malcolm reverts back to his very good play like he did in Seattle, if this happens, he can be a good leader for our up and coming D.

True... Sometimes your best niche is da most familiar.. And some people are the best in certain systems.. He can/will play great now that he's back 'at home"..

i hate this signing. dude is mediocre at best. Would rather have kept Wilhoit and drafted an LB.

Some of our signings are more so we have a player/coach on the practice field in OTA's and TC.

I don't think he is to replace Wilhoit at ILB tho, he played SAM on Seattle and he and his back up (Dakota Watson) are settled in der. I think Ray Ray and a Draft pick will battle it out and replace Wilhoit , which should be easy..

I think this guy is going to surprise a lot of people. Not going to be a star but really solid

He actually played WILL with SEA but might be placed at SAM depending on draft,Ray-Ray and Brooks.

I think they're gonna put him at SAM if he can hold down run downs.

Well I'm pretty sure Saleh didn't have to dig deep into the film to know Smith is a solid player. He coached him up in Seattle. He knows what he's getting with Smith. Fits the system just right.

I think Smith will be fine, and the fact that he already knows the system is a huge bonus. I expect him to have a good year, and for us to look to the draft either this year or next year, for the guy that will eventually replace him a few years down the road.

We need to temper our expectations of this guy. Did we overpay? Probably. Do I care? No.
He was a 7th round draft pick that has been let go by two other teams. He makes a lot of tackles, doesn't pass defend very well. He is what he is, probably not getting much better (if at all).
He's a good signing. We need to upgrade our LB core, he knows the system, and if he's willing to be a leader, that'd be a big plus.
But he's not great. He's adequate. Which is a huge upgrade.

I don't get it... this BS started from a dumb article that didn't even know the full contract details. Anyways, smith will be fine.

I have a funny gut feeling that this guy will fkn ball. My favorite FA signing along with Hoyer.
