Sucks, but i hope Reuben steps up and has a great healthy rookie season. We really need Bowman to hold up as well. (thank good we kept Brooks too lol)

I guess Ray-Ray is now a lock. Coyle now has a very good shot to make the roster for special teams.

Bright side is we'll get to unleash Foster. Just have to hope he and Bowman stay healthy. I wasn't crazy about the Smith signing to begin with, but liked the depth that we had with him. Now that he's out, all of a sudden that linebacker depth looks real thin.

Don't know what to make of it tbh. Smith was the 1st major injury of TC so far. Happens every year. Seems like its impossible to avoid at least one season-ending injury.
But I would agree, I have no idea if this strength and conditioning staff is "better" than the previous one in terms of injury prevention. I suppose their approach is different, more emphasis on weight loss and speed.

Wonder if Smith ever plays a down with the Niners with Foster waiting in the wings

I know Smith had his detractors but the guy had a knack for making the big play. Hope he heals and comes back next season.

Wondering the same thing. His cap number is still pretty affordable next year. I think chances are decent he'll at least be back for next season.

Gotta say, his muscle mass reminded me of Bob Sanders.
