Nope. Bow is the Mike. Brooks is SAM. (Unless Malcom gets pushed over there).

according to who? He played outside in college, and Brooks sucked in a 4-3 with Cincy.

In this D (it's a little different than the standard 4-3), the SAM is more like a 3-4 OLB, who sets the edge, covers a little, and rushes a little. The Mike is the best and smartest LB on the team, and the Will is relied on to cover and fly to the ball.

Great depth but average at best as starter. He might open the year as starter. Knows the new scheme better than anyone currently on the team. Could have a rookie pushing him though as the season goes on

, if we sign him oh boy....Gonna compete at WLB/SAM... when he was in the system he played good for SEA. At the end of the day we all know it starts up front. La Confora reported we're interested in Poe

Uh oh. Here comes 9moons "Poe Boy sandwich cause it stuffs you".

I agree. Brooks and Malcolm Smith are better than Malcolm Smith and Armstrong, jmo.
I've blocked out that super bowl and basically have little memory of it.

We need multiple additions at LB and DT in order to address the soft chewy center of the defense. I like Smith as part of the mix but would expect the team to remain active in the LB market. I still like Zach Brown.

Brown is gonna cost some money, I much rather use the cap space to try and sign Terrelle Pryor .
I would have loved to go after D'onte Hightower. That was the LB I wanted bad

i much rather have brown. At least brown has been productive in 4 seasons while pryor is a one hit wonder. And you can actually argue that the receiving core is better than the linebackers with the addition to garcon and goodwin.

Ah hell, the 49ers have money to get both, but if i had to sign one, it would most def. be brown. Safer bet

The draft is better with LB's than big receivers like Pryor. Also Pryor just started to play receiver in 2015, he's only going to get better.

We still have $96M less Malcolm Smith's deal which I'm projecting to be around $4M anyhow. We good!

Wait, after hitting up 5 free agent they still have $96 million?
Yea Smith is pretty meh. Would like to see a netter player added at that position. Probably a young guy in the draft.
