you knew it was bad when you had people justifying the signing and the money by saying.. well he was signed for a coach in this system more than he was than a player.lol. a rebuilding team with that mind set and no wonder we set here picking second
I cant blame lynch for this one. I was a big fan of this signing. Does the team want to keep him?

at the time he was known for making one play and was not worth the money . i get though we had to over pay for players like him and juice cuz no one wanted to come here
Want to hear his name for the next cut

I'm guessing it's gonna be a post-June 1st move same with Garcon. (financially makes sense).

next dude gone is gonna be Garry Gilliam no way they pickup his option for $5 million. Same with Marsh ($4.2 million option). Toss in Celek ($2 million savings) you're looking at like $10+ million extra for getting rid of dead weight heading into FA.

Can you announce it as a post June cut designation?
Yeah AB did math on all those guys and it came out to about 13-14mil

Terrible signings by shannylynch

Malcolm smith
Garcon
Richburg
McKinnon
Jimmy (should have franchised)

Would you of franchised him again this year, try to sign a deal that would hopefully be less that the deal we gave him, or just ride with Mullens?

Like this philosophy/plan. Wish u were GM for the day..lol But yeah, we can get a viable backup TE in 2nd tier FA, unless one of Kyles' old guys is available/cut. Gilliam can be replaced with Shon Coleman (already on team), and drafting a LT of the future in this draft. Marsh they'll probably convert that $4.2M, over 2 or 3 seasons and keep him. Only way I see Smith staying is if we DONT get a SAM in FA, nor draft a guy like Josh Allen. Garcon is toast/done/history..
I think Wards fate could be tied to who we get in FA to play FS. If we get Thomas, Ward is GONE. But no Thomas, and we probably keep every Safety currently on team (Exum, Reed, Colbert, Tartt, Harris), adding Ward here would make sense then. But if Thomas is a 49er, then Ward wont be.

Then sign Thomas ASAP if for no other reason.
Tha more I think cutting smith maybe a bad idea ...For one he knows our defense we have tha cap room and with only 5 picks if we cut him we have to draft or sign someone else to fill his spot ...

he does nothing to justify a spot. you can train a seal to know the defense ran by mr clean acorn head. we can easily find someone in the free agency to fill his void. but a linebacker of some sort must be taken. to tell me we need to sign someone like him cuz we have the cap room is not logical at all, he is junk,. you got junk. you remove said junk
Dude isn't even available most the time. Who cares if you know the defense if you can't play.
