I am hoping we bring in Mosley now that he got cut. I wanted Weddle, but the Rams got him. Perhaps his 6.5 million per year salary should bring down Earl Thomas' 13 million a year ask? I still say give Earl a 3 year 30 million dollar deal with 20 million guaranteed. Basically just guarantee the first 2 seasons, and have the option to get out scott free in year 3, or if he is still good, keep him for that 3rd season.

It's threads like this that truly separate the sensible and knowledgeable posters from the rest.
More dead weight. Gotta know when to fold em.

lol wut
It just seems like we know what we have here. The value that he brings could be found in someone else that is less injury prone.

I feel like I could say this about 75% of our team over the past 5 years. Sad.

The fact that Smith is being labeled "injury prone" just goes to show the crap luck we've had. Smith ain't injury prone, he only missed 4 games in the 4 seasons before he signed here. Hell even jet had only missed 1 game in three years, then boom IR.

Seriously...it just seems like an absolute curse. Football God's punishing us for all the success of the 80's and 90's. Like how the Pat's were an absolute laughing stock and the tides turned.

Just waiting for our turn again.

It's " The Curse of The 85 Trade ".... and how we're able to trick the Patriots from taking the 28th spot so that we can move up and land Jerry Rice..

Lets all now hope that it's finally over after " The Gift " happened and I'm talking about how we got Grappy for a mere 2nd rounder!!

Smith probably realized they would be moving on from him after this season anyway (of not before). Better for him to know he'll have free agency options next offseason without having the Niners determine his fate of when he's released (unless it's sometime this season). He needs to stay healthy and contribute as a role-player this year to hook up with another team in 2020.
