The 49ers initially signed Smith to a five-year deal on March 9, 2017, worth up to $26.5 million. He was due $3.75 million in 2019 but restructured his contract, which essentially became a one-year deal, this offseason to remain with the 49ers. The remaining years on the deal voided on March 17.

I liked the Smith signing at the time since we needed bodies at LB. Fast forward to now and we have three quality LBs and they're all young. Lynch has assembled a dominant front 7 in just three offseasons.

Always injured unfortunately but for cap reasons a great move for 49ers IMO next I think is RB McKinnon dont think he will ever be the same
