Trying to motivate Petts"
He's been so quiet. Almost forgettable.

I guess that makes the 2017 F/A class a fail.

Played for Kyle in Atlanta. Giving him a game to showcase for other teams.

Kyle probably already knows what receivers he's keeping and they won't play much, if at all. We're gonna see a lot of Malik Henry, Chris Thompson, and Nick Williams.

Because they need bodies to finish the 4th preseason game and don't want to risk injury to one of our WRs

Totally.

Good move for the team.

I had no issues with the Smith signing originally, we had to overpay yes, but he was a vet in the scheme and we were bringing him in to a losing franchise.

Injuries meant he never played but I understand the reasons we signed him.

Agree with this. Glad we decided to move on early to give the guy a chance to make a roster while also freeing up a roster spot for a younger guy
bingo!

Thanks for nothing Malcolm. Deuces.

These teams are so not ready for the start of the season that I think a lot of players are going down in the first 2 weeks. I'm not wishing for it but the entire league is holding guys back and there is no way some of them are in game shape. Do you really think Jimmy looked sharp enough to be game ready? How about the O line? Be prepared for sloppy play and lots of penalties.
The return to health of Alexander made this move inevitable. Seemed a good signing at the time but Kwon is an improvement. Brick-by-brick...
SORRY, it was never a good signing IMO !!

but that was just MY OPINION!!

A lot of the 2017 offseason signings were to bring in respectable veterans that could change the locker room. Obviously they wanted Smith to play well, too, but it was an expansion team approach for a reason. Once he was injured and they were able to add younger talent to the position in the last two offseasons... well, here we are.

Yeah, they just might adopt the nickname "The Hot Boys" - keep in mind the area they are in.
